With the improvement of Chinese economic level and the improvement of people’s quality of life, people are no longer content with the basic material necessities.Improving well-being has become an urgent need of the people, and has increasingly become a hot topic of public concern. As an important part of Chinese social insurance system, unemployment insurance is inextricably linked to the people’s livelihood and well-being of Chinese workers.Since the promulgation of the Unemployment Insurance Regulations in 1999,the unemployment insurance system have been improving day by day.It has played an extremely important role in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the unemployed, promoting social equity and safeguarding social and economic development. In addition, the functions of unemployment insurance, such as guaranteeing the basic living needs of the unemployed, promoting the reemployment of the unemployed and preventing the unemployment of the in-service personnel, are also of great significance to the improvement of the subjective well-being of the working-age population in China. However,Chinese unemployment insurance system still has many problems, such as the low level of security and the need to improve the system’s aim, which obviously hinder unemployment insurance from exerting its happy effect. How to further improve our country’s unemployment insurance system to promote our people’s vision of a better life has become a problem that needs to be solved urgently. In view of this, this article summarizes the subjective well-being and unemployment insurance related literature, explains the related concepts of subjective well-being,unemployment and unemployment insurance, then introduces related theories, and further explores the basic functions of unemployment insurance and its influence mechanism on subjective well-being.Then,this article analyzes the subjective well-being of Chinese people and the status quo of the unemployment insurance system based on relevant social reality data.On the basis of scientific and prudent empirical design, use the 2018 China Family Tracking Survey Data(CFPS2018)to conduct empirical analysis to investigate whether unemployment insurance has an impact on the subjective well-being of the working-age population in China, and use the mediation effect model to explore its impact Mechanism; At the same time, this article also carried out a group regression to test whether there is heterogeneity in the happiness effect of unemployment insurance. Finally,on the basis of empirical regression, relevant conclusions are drawn according to the empirical results and relevant policy suggestions are put forward.According to the research and analysis of this paper, the following conclusions are drawn.First, the overall subjective well-being of China’s working-age population is general and does not reach a high level.Although China’s unemployment insurance system has been developing and improving, there are still many problems and great potential for development.Secondly, the empirical results show that unemployment insurance has a significant positive effect on the level of subjective well-being of working-age population in China.Employment promotion and basic living security,as mediating variables, play a significant and positive partial mediating effect between them, which verifies the research hypothesis in this paper, that is,the happiness effect brought by unemployment insurance to working-age population is partly transmitted through the path of employment promotion and basic living security. Finally, based on the theoretical analysis and empirical results, this paper puts forward practical policy suggestions from the perspectives of perfecting unemployment insurance system, improving employment situation and improving people’s basic living security,in order to provide inspiration for the development of Chinese unemployment insurance system and its happiness effect. |
