With the development of economy and technology,the pace of society is getting faster and faster,and people are gradually feeling the preciousness and scarcity of time.For colleges and universities that specialize in cultivating advanced talents,it is no longer the image of the ivory tower in the past.Both college students and staff have the same feeling,especially the student-centered work group in colleges and universities—the college counselors.Long working hours and busy work are the normal work conditions of college counselors.Studying the specific status quo and breaking the time dilemma of instructors is important and necessary for the construction of the instructor team in the new era.From the perspective of social time perspective,this research takes the working time length,time allocation and work experience of college counselors as the entry point,focusing on the time dilemma of college counselors and the causes and corresponding improvements from the perspective of social time.The social time view not only looks at time from a quantitative perspective,but also pays attention to the qualitative meaning of time.Therefore,studying the working conditions of college counselors from the perspective of social time can highlight the essential problems in a deeper level.This research comprehensively investigates the working conditions of college counselors using literature method,questionnaire method and interview method.The questionnaire research found that,in terms of the length of working hours,the working hours of college counselors are higher than the legal standard working hours,which are often extended to normal family time and leisure time.From the perspective of working time allocation,most of the time and energy of counselors are allocated to the service and management of students,and their own development time is obviously insufficient.Interview research found that college counselors generally feel that "time is not enough" and "working hours are too long" partly because the amount of working hours is indeed longer than the legal working hours.On the other hand,from the perspective of the quality of working hours,The working time density is too high,the interaction time is difficult to dominate,the scarcity of self-time,the waste of institutional time,the solidification of cultural time,etc.will affect the counselor’s time experience.From the perspective of counselors themselves,the current situation of counselors’ time management,work habits,and professional targets will all have an impact;from the organizational level of colleges and universities,the school’s division of labor arrangements,evaluation mechanisms,and security mechanisms also have a certain impact.Finally,with regard to improving the current situation of excessively long working hours of college counselors,from the perspective of the measurement of social time,what counselors should do at the personal level is to appropriately learn time management skills and knowledge to improve their own softness.Hardware capabilities;the school level should improve the evaluation mechanism of counselors,provide reasonable guarantees,and strengthen the service awareness of functional departments;education departments should not only formulate policies,but also track and promote the implementation of policies.From the perspective of improving the quality of working hours,college counselors themselves must maintain a positive attitude and be good at learning from tedious work;from the school level,they must start to abandon part of the system time reasonably and ensure the counselors’ personalized time needs,and Guarantee the income of counselors. |
