With the development of economy,the migrant population from the countryside to the city has become the normal of this society at this stage.Although migrant children live with their parents in the city,due to the relative lack of family discipline,neglect,repression and even unfair treatment by some parents and teachers,migrant children have social maladjustment in the new environment,and have some problems in mental health,pro-social relations and interpersonal communication.How to improve migrant children’s interpersonal communication and pro-social behavior has become an important topic.From the perspective of social mindfulness,the current study examines the differences in social mindfulness level between migrant children and nonmigrant children,and how to improve their social mindfulness level.This study consists of three experiments.Experiment 1 used the social mindfulness paradigm(So Mi)to explore whether there was difference in social mindfulness levels between migrant children and non-migrant children.Experiment 2 adopted a mixed design of 2(competence:high/low)× 2(warmth: high/low)to explore the influence of the competence and warmth of interactive objects on the social mindfulness level of migrant children.In experiment 3,a singlefactor inter-subject design was used to explore the effect of empathy training on the social mindfulness level of migrant children.The results of current study are as follows:(1)Whether it is migrant children or non-migrant children,there are gender differences in the level of social mindfulness.The level of social mindfulness of girls is higher than that of boys.(2)There is a significant difference in the level of social mindfulness between migrant children and non-migrant children.The level of social mindfulness of migrant children is significantly lower than that of non-migrant children.(3)Perceived the warmth of the interactive objects has no significant effect on the social mindfulness level of migrant children.The competence to perceive interactive objects has a significant impact on the level of social mindfulness of migrant children.Specifically,when they perceive the low competence of interactive objects,migrant children show a higher level of social mindfulness to them.(4)Empathy training has a significant impact on the level of social mindfulness of migrant children.Compared with the control group without empathy training,the training group has a higher level of social mindfulness.This study has certain scientific guiding significance for the future education and teaching of migrant children’s schools and how to promote their interpersonal communication and pro-social behavior.
