In today’s society, the development of the education system has gradually shifted towards the need to achieve quality education and lifelong education for individuals, and education has become more focused on the development of students’ overall quality and personality traits. At the same time, the need to reduce the burden of primary and secondary school students has yet to be addressed, and it has become crucial to enhance the effectiveness of education. With the deep integration of computer technology and Internet technology with education, the previous classroom teaching system is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of students’ individual development, and personalised learning systems have emerged,it raises the possibility of personalised education and lifelong learning.Although personalised learning systems have many advantages, they are not yet well developed and there are still many problems. Therefore,we need to analyse the practical application of personalised learning platforms, explore the degree of personalisation and teaching effectiveness that can be achieved by personalised learning platforms, and identify where the problems lie in order to optimise personalised learning platforms. The "Squirrel AI Smart Adaptive Learning System" is used as the research platform, and selects the students of the Physics subject in the first book of the eighth grade of the Human Education version as the research object. As I am a physics teaching assistant at one of the Squirrel AI campuses,I am familiar with the operation process of the whole platform and therefore had the opportunity to complete this research.,I reviewed the literature and introduced in detail the background of this paper, the Firstlycurrent status of research at home and abroad, the purpose and significance of the research, and explained the content and methodology of the research. Then I defined the core concept of personalised learning in this paper, and summarised the characteristics, implementation steps and theoretical basis of personalised learning,so as to pave the way for the theoretical discussion of the whole topic. This is followed by a brief introduction to the student and teacher interfaces of Squirrel AI,a summary of its advantages and features, and a further analysis of the functional modules of the learning system. This is followed by a practical study of personalised learning in physics based on the system, using observation and survey methods to analyse data on the personalised learning paths of different students and the scientific nature of the system’s problem-solving.The system’s learning experience and problems are combined with the results of the above two parts of the study to obtain the system’s learning experience and problems, and based on this, suggestions for improvement are made. The results show that the personalised learning system is able to provide personalised teaching for different students, and has a high level of satisfaction among students, and the students’ performance has improved,so it can achieve certain teaching results. There are certain problems, such as:teaching resources are not rich enough, the type of pushing questions is relatively single, the platform interaction form is relatively one-sided,students’ self-control on the effect of learning is obvious, the system of personalized recommendation mechanism is not stable, etc.,the author on top of this put forward certain suggestions for improvement. Finally, the author summarizes the research on personalized learning based on "Squirrel AI" and points out the shortcomings and prospects of the research. This thesis investigates and analyses the practical application of personalised learning, validates the learning outcomes and experiences of students, and hopes to help optimise and improve the personalised learning platform and provide lessons for future research on personalised learning.
