Impairment of empathy is one of the obstacles of children with autism.Studies have shown that it is closely related to the ability of social interaction, expression recognition and emotional situation understanding of children with autism. In order to study the intervention methods and effects of empathy in children with autism, this study adopted a cross-subject multi-baseline experimental design.Four children with autism were trained in expression recognition and imitation, emotion interpretation training, problem solving training, and emotions. The intervention of picture book teaching explores the effectiveness of the above methods and the intervention effect of empathy in children with autism. This research is composed of the following four parts: The first part is a literature review. The first part is the definition of autism, intervention methods and research status.Secondly, the definition of empathy, the classification of empathy, and empathy Competence intervention methods and research status are summarized and sorted out;finally, related researches on empathy in children with autism are analyzed and discussed. The second part compares the scores of children with autism and ordinary children on the "Children’s Empathy and Systematic Traits",and explores the characteristics of the empathy ability of children with autism. The third part is to use expression recognition and imitation training, emotion interpretation training, problem solving training, and emotional picture book teaching to intervene four research subjects through a cross-subject multi-baseline experimental design, and to intervene before, after, and during the follow-up period. The four subjects’ expression recognition, emotion interpretation, and problem-solving abilities were tested to explore the effects of intervention. Finally, the "Child Empathy and Systematization Quality Table" is used to test the empathy ability of autistic children before and after intervention,to explore whether the empathy ability of the subjects has been improved through the intervention training of the above methods. The fourth part is to explore the effects of empathy intervention, reflect on the deficiencies of research, and provide corresponding suggestions for future intervention research.Research results:(1)The empathy of children with autism is defective.(2)After the intervention training, the number of correct facial expression recognition, the correct rate of emotion interpretation, and the correct rate of problem solving of the three subjects were improved and maintained good results. The maintenance effect of the emotional interpretation intervention of one participant was unstable.(3)After the intervention, the empathy intervention effect of the three subjects was significant(P<0.05).The empathy intervention effect of one subject was not significant(P>0.05).Research conclusions: Children with autism have empathy deficits, expression recognition and imitation training, emotion interpretation training, problem solving training and emotional picture book teaching intervention have significant effects, and the above methods can improve the empathy ability of autistic children. |
