Nowadays college students are an important group to realize the Chinese dream and complete the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.A good campus environment and a clean Internet space play an important role in the establishment of college students’ values and the progress of their thoughts. But now there is no complete and effective set of laws and regulations to restrict the use of Internet space. In recent years, the phenomenon of cyberviolence and cyberbullying has been frequent. In the Internet filled with all kinds of violent media information, there are potential risks for college students.College is the time to establish correct values and outlook on life, and students’ value orientation is likely to be influenced by information on the Internet. The network information is good and bad, college students are likely to be affected by the bad information, and then change the personal cognition, emotional tendency and behavioral tendency, even the serious may appear deviant behavior and form aggressive personality. To address this,I looked at the literature and found that loneliness and violent media contact were both significantly associated with cyberbullying,College students with high levels of loneliness are more likely to use the Internet to socialize, while individuals with high levels of loneliness generally have low social ability, which increases the risk of cyberbullying. This study adopted the method of questionnaire survey to randomly distribute489 questionnaires to college students from freshman to senior, and 393 valid questionnaires were collected,so as to understand the current situation of college students’ loneliness, media violence exposure and cyberbullying,to study the internal relationship of the three,to explore whether loneliness has a mediating role in the relationship between violent media contact and cyberbullying. The tools of the study were Media Violence Scale,UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3,and Cyber Bullying Questionnaire. The validated factors were analyzed by Amos software, the questionnaire’s reliability test, independent variance T-Test,descriptive statistics, correlation analysis were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 software and Bootstrap method to test the mediating effect of the scale, and the results were as follow.1.There are significant gender and grade differences in college students’ violent media contact.2.The overall loneliness level of college students is in the high level, with significant age difference.3.The overall level of cyberbullying among college students is at a medium level, with significant differences in gender, grade and student origin.4.There is a significant positive correlation between college students’ violent media contact and loneliness,as well as between college students’ violent media contact and cyberbullying, and between loneliness and cyberbullying.5.Loneliness plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between college students’ violent media contact and cyberbullying.Based on the above research results,we conclude that loneliness, violent media exposure and cyberbullying are correlated in pairs, and loneliness plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between media violence contact and cyberbullying. Finally, this paper provides practical suggestions for schools and society in order to reduce the incidence of college students’ cyberbullying to a certain extent, slow down the cyberbullying behavior by reducing the loneliness experience of college students, and help college students properly use the network to purify the network space.
