In the context of the new round of college entrance examination reform,guiding students to select subject of examination and career planning has become the focus of high school education.In the "Implementation Plan for Promoting the Reform of Educational Modes of Ordinary High Schools in the New Era" issued in 2019,it is clearly required that the senior high school should strengthen the guidance of students’ career development,and it points out that the senior high school should implement career education by offering specialized curriculum.Under the realistic pressure of the new college entrance examination reform,lots of senior high schools have actively opened and implemented career curriculum.However,judging from the current implementation of career curriculum in senior high schools,there are problems such as the marginalization of career curriculum,the insufficient level of curriculum implementation,and the minimal impact on students’ career development.In order to further know the problems in the implementation of career curriculum in the senior high school and the factors hindering the implementation of career curriculum.This research based on the Fullan’s educational reform theory,combined with field investigations,analyzes and discusses the factors affecting the implementation of career curriculums of senior high school from curriculum characteristics,school interiors and school exteriors,and puts forward relevant suggestions to provide reference for the implementation of career curriculum in the senior high school.This article takes Chengdu S Senior High School as a case study,and investigates the implementation of the career curriculum through interviews and questionnaires.The investigation found that there are some problems of the implementation of career curriculum in the S senior high school,such as vague teaching goals,rare career content,insufficient usage of resources,and formalism evaluation.Through further research,it is found that the main factors affecting the implementation of senior high school career curriculum.The main factors of curriculum itself are: insufficient demand for career curriculum,utilitarian purpose of the curriculum,missing curriculum standards and unclear requirements for the implementation of career curriculum.The main internal factors of school are: the principal’s insufficient participation in the construction of career curriculum,the lack of supervision of the principal’s implementation of career curriculum;the professional mismatch of teachers,and limited training opportunities for teacher.The main external factors of school are: lack of institutional guarantees for curriculum implementation and supervision over the implementation of career curriculum in school districts,and "score first" and low expectations for career curriculum for parents.The conclusion of the article is: insufficient demand for career curriculum is the core influencing factor hindering the implementation of career curriculum in the senior high school,insufficient supply of professional teachers is a key influencing factor restricting the quality of career curriculum,and lack of external support is the indirect factors hindering the implementation of career curriculum in the senior high school.In this regard,the school,the school district,the parents and the society and other relevant responsibility subjects should form joint force and mutual cooperation,by strengthening the supervision of the implementation of career curriculum,increasing the importance of the career curriculum,accelerating the construction of career curriculum system,formulating career curriculum standards,strengthening the construction of career curriculum teachers,improving the system of teacher training,constructing cooperation between internal and external entities and making full use of external resources,to promote the implementation of career curriculum in the senior high school.
