In the past decade,China’s national economy has maintained steady and rapid development, and the quality of life of urban and rural residents has been improved step by step. However,in terms of the current situation,China’s dual economic structure has not disappeared, and the level of economic development between urban and rural areas is unbalanced, which directly leads to a large gap in the income of urban and rural residents.By referring to the National Statistical Yearbook 2018,we found that in 2017,the per capita disposable income ratio of urban and rural residents reached 2.71 times, while the absolute difference between urban and rural per capita disposable income was as high as 22963.8 yuan.At the same time of rapid economic development, population flow has gradually become a common and not negligible social and economic phenomenon.According to the report on the development of China’s floating population 2018,the floating population in 2017 was about 291 million. While the growth of the floating population scale increases the wage income of the floating population,it is bound to have a certain impact on the inflow and outflow areas. The large-scale inflow of population not only brings a lot of labor resources to the inflow zone, but also increases its consumption demand and promotes the local economic development. For the outflow places, the large-scale population flow reduces the population of the outflow places, which increases the resources available to the residents of the outflow places, thus promoting the increase of their income. While promoting population mobility,it also brings some social phenomena that need attention, such as "left behind children" and "empty nest elderly".These phenomena will have a certain impact on the income gap between urban and rural residents. To sum up,the purpose of this paper is to solve the current serious income gap between urban and rural residents from the perspective of population mobility. The paper is divided into four parts,as follows:First of all, this paper combs the domestic and foreign research results and related theoretical basis of population mobility and urban-rural income gap, clearly defines the important concepts involved in this paper, and discusses the interaction between population mobility and urban-rural income gap. Then it analyzes the current situation of population flow and income gap between urban and rural areas in China, and gives some explanations. Then, this paper uses the data from 2005 to 2017 to empirically analyze the impact of population mobility on the urban-rural income gap.The empirical analysis results show that: population mobility is conducive to inhibiting the expansion of the urban-rural income gap,and the most significant effect is in the central region, the opposite is that the population mobility in the western region has a positive correlation with the income gap between urban and rural residents, but it is significant The writing is weak.As for the income gap between urban and rural areas, the empirical results show that population mobility is conducive to reducing the wage income gap between urban and rural residents and the transfer income gap between urban and rural residents, while the impact on the operational income gap between urban and rural residents and the property income gap is not significant. At last, this paper improves the research conclusion on the basis of considering the actual situation of the country, and gives reasonable suggestions to solve the problem of income gap between urban and rural areas. |
