| Preschool education,as the beginning of lifelong learning,is an important social welfare undertaking.The prevalence and inclusiveness of preschool education worldwide are becoming more and more obvious today.The Pre-K programs is a free,voluntary preschool education for children aged 3-4,funded by the state government after the K-12 education system has popularized the last year of preschool education.This research mainly uses the literature research method,historical research method,and comparative research method,takes the Georgia’s Pre-K program and Florida Voluntary Pre-kindergarten Program as the main research object,grasps the characteristics and challenges of the State-funded Pre-K programs based on the comparative analysis of the project profile and specific content of the two states,and provides some enlightenment for the development of public welfare inclusive and quality preschool education in China.The introduction part of the research mainly explains the research origin,research significance,core concepts,literature review and research methods.The first chapter introduces the background of the Pre-K program.The second chapter explains the general situation and content of the Pre-K programs,which is based on the specific introduction and comparison of the Pre-K program in Georgia and Florida.The third chapter summarizes the characteristics of the Pre-K programs,mainly including:diversified funding sources,a wide range of service providers,high quality teachers,flexible and diverse curriculum models,and attention to parental participation and support services.The fourth chapter analyzes the challenges faced by the Pre-K programs,which mainly include: insufficient capital investment and low overall,uneven quality development and overall low;teachers’ pay is low and the gap is large,the curriculum model is many kinds,but the implementation of difficulty,emphasizing the test evaluation of school readiness,still need to be considered.The fifth chapter,based on the current situation and problems of the development of preschool education in China,combined with the experience saughts of the American State Pre-K Project,puts forward some enlightenments: continue to increase the investment in preschool education;Actively support the quality development of private kindergartens;Efforts should be made to promote diversification and localization of curriculum models.Effectively improve parents’ participation;Continue to strengthen education supervision and evaluation. |
