In this study on the challenges of implementing inclusive education programme for students with hearing impairment in Calabar Metropolis,Cross River State Nigeria.The study reviewed literature that focused on the variables of the study.Three research questions were formulated and answered for the study using descriptive survey analysis.A 15 items questionnaire was used for data collection.A sample of two hundred and fifty respondents were selected for the study.Data collected was analysed using simple percentage and bar graph.The findings show that there is a substantial relationship between funding,lack of enforcement of legislation,inadequate personnel and implementation of inclusive education programme for students with hearing impairment in the study area.Based on the finding of the study,it was recommended among other things that government in each of the level of government should make inclusive education obligatory in every available schools and colleges to evade discrimination as it regards persons with special needs in pursuance of their educational quest.Also,it was recommended that parents of students with hearing impairment should collaborate in order to source for personnel and push for enforcement of appropriate legislation to support effective implementation of the inclusive education programmes for their children.The study went further to conclude that inclusive education essentially,has emanated in the archives of Nigeria and the sooner it is well effected in Nigeria the better.Suggestions for further studies were also made that similar studies should be investigated on variables that were not previously explored covering the entire Cross River State and a study on need assessment of facilities for readiness of inclusive education can also be conducted.
