Social media has become an indispensable part of People’s Daily life.Whether it is to obtain information or communicate feelings,social media has become the preferred medium for most people,especially college students,to conduct interpersonal communication.At the same time,for the current social environment,the difficulty of college students ’employment is still a matter of widespread concern and attention in society,and college students are still facing huge challenges in employment.A large number of studies show that in addition to individual human capital,network social capital and real social capital also play a great role in the employment of college students.Especially in the popularization of the Internet and social media,network social capital,as an extension and important development of real social capital,plays a more important role in the employment of contemporary college students.In this paper,based on the research of the related theories in this field at home and abroad as well as the related concepts,social capital as the breakthrough point,to network through virtual ethnography and semi-structured interview method,using social media for college students to network social capital to invest,to absorb and to mobilize the behavior characteristics and psychological motivation behind the research analysis.According to the return of network social capital to the employment of college students,the paper analyzes the influence of network social capital on the employment of college students from two aspects:the realistic influence and the psychological influence.It is found that college students have a clear preference for We Chat,and the interactive objects on We Chat are concentrated and the interactive contents are similar.In the stage of job hunting,college students maintain their existing network social capital mainly through homogeneous interaction.Infrequent heterogeneous interactions effectively mobilize new network social capital.The use of We Chat by college students mainly aims at emotional appeal.Expressive behavior has become an important way for college students to adjust their psychological state during employment.And instrumental behavior is the main way for college students to obtain resources.However,the author found that college students are not sensitive to the concept of network social capital.Although college students spend a lot of time using We Chat,their investment awareness of network social capital is very weak.In addition,there are unbalanced and insufficient problems in the process of absorbing and mobilizing network social capital.There is also a gap of network social capital among college students.Based on this,I put forward some suggestions: It is hoped that college students will pay more attention to the investment of network social capital,fully absorb and mobilize network social capital,and improve the success rate of employment.
