With the development of science and technology,we are living in an era surrounded by visual images.Whether it is traditional printed materials dominated by reading,or textbooks and extracurricular reading materials used by students,the proportion of images is increasing rapidly.The cultivation of visual literacy ability has become an inevitable way to obtain information quickly and accurately in this era.It is a great challenge for Chinese teaching to optimize teaching with abundant image resources and promote the development of students’ visual interpretation ability,visual expression ability and visual thinking while improving their language ability.Integrating visual literacy with subject teaching,guiding students to feel the differences between different forms of images,and analyzing how to comprehensively use visual images and words for visual expression according to different targets or audiences are the inevitable requirements of visual literacy training in primary and secondary schools in the new era.Under the background of visual culture and on the premise of promoting the development of students’ visual literacy ability,this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of teaching Chinese visual literacy to teachers and students in the lower grades of primary schools.This paper summarizes the problems and causes in the teaching of Chinese visual literacy in the lower grades of primary schools,and puts forward the design and strategy of the teaching of Chinese in the lower grades of primary schools based on the development of visual literacy by combining the dual coding theory,multiple intelligences theory and constructivist learning theory.At the same time,the illustrations of textbooks are the most used in the teaching of Chinese visual literacy in the lower grades of primary schools.At the same time,in the teaching strategy of Chinese visual literacy in the lower grades of primary schools,several links in the "translation and creation" teaching method are selected based on the illustrations in the primary school Chinese teaching materials to flexibly teach,which is also an innovation in this paper.This paper will provide reference for the teaching of Chinese visual literacy in the lower grades of primary schools and enrich the theory and practice of the design of the teaching of Chinese visual literacy in the lower grades of primary schools.
