Research On Effects Of Migrantion On The Consumption

At the 13 th National People’s Congress in Mar 2019,Premier Li Keqiang state to maintain employment and ensure stable growth when present the work of the government.China’s economy has entered a period of steady growth.In 2018,GDP grew 6.6% over the previous year,and consumption decelerated significantly.At the same time,the number of floating population continues to grow,had reach 241 million.Therefore,studying the consumption structure of floating population and its influencing factors not only has great theoretical significance,but also has great practical significance for promoting consumption,expanding domestic demand,promoting the transformation of ecnomic development mode,optimizing economic structure,and transforming growth momentum.So far,domestic scholars have conducted a lot of research on China’s residents’ consumption and population movements,and have achieved fruitful research results.However,very few of them is about the consumption of floating population and its influencing factors,especially about the floating population in the Northeast and the inclusion of the residence type in the scope of the study.Even the existing ones are lack of pertinence and systemicity.This paper bases on the data of China Labor Force Activity Survey(CLDS),analyzes household income,residence type,education level and geographical distribution,studies the differences in household consumption structure of floating population,finally make systematic analysis of the mechanism of action of various influencing factors with the quantile regression model.The conclusions of this paper indicate that: Firstly,the floating population in Northeast China has the highest level of education and pays more attention to invest in education,while the floating population in West China invests least in education.Secondly,the medical expenditure of the floating population is lower than that of the urban residents in all regions,and the gap in the Northeast is the largest.Thirdly,the income of the household registration area is an important factor affecting the income of the floating population.The floating population from the higher economic development level has higher income and higher consumption,and vice versa.This paper analyzes the consumption structure and influencing factors of the floating population from multiple perspectives,can be referred in the development of education,medical and consumption policies for the country and the region,to rationally allocate various factor resources,promote consumption transformation and upgrading,and empower the economic to increase both quality and quantity,also increase speed.
