Over the past 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities have undergone many reforms and formed a curriculum system with Chinese characteristics.Practical teaching of ideological and political course,as an indispensable part of ideological and political theory course teaching in colleges and universities,plays a very important role in improving the teaching effectiveness of ideological and political theory course.Along with the twists and turns of the history of the construction of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities,the practice teaching has been constantly strengthened and improved in the reform.By carefully combing and summarizing relevant historical materials,the development course of practical teaching of ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities is summarized in stages,and the experience and lessons of practical teaching are analyzed,so as to provide reference for colleges and universities to strengthen and improve practical teaching of ideological and political theory course in the new era.This paper expounds the meaning,characteristics,types,basic requirements and theoretical basis of practical teaching of ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities,and expounds the relationship between practical teaching and theoretical teaching of ideological and political course,as well as the importance of strengthening practical teaching.The practical teaching of ideological and political courses and the theoretical teaching are interrelated,inseparable,complementary and indispensable.Practical teaching is an integral part of ideological and political course teaching.Without practical teaching links,ideological and political course is not complete,nor can it be effective.But the time and content of practice teaching is not the more the better,to start from the reality,grasp not much more "degree",can meet the teaching requirements and feasible,good effect,is the best.The practical teaching of ideological and political course can be divided into direct and indirect ones.Due to the constraints of various conditions,there are many difficulties in organizing the direct practical activities of college students,and this kind of practice is obviously insufficient.However,many universities and teachers combine direct practice with indirect practice teaching and make use of limited conditions to do everything possible to strengthen indirectpractice,which,to a certain extent,makes up for the lack of practice and practical experience of students.This is worth paying attention to and summarizing.Both the direct extracurricular practice teaching and the indirect classroom practice teaching are important and necessary and irreplaceable,which should be carried out in combination with reality.Referring to the history of the Communist Party of China,the history of ideological and political education and the history of ideological and political education curriculum construction,and synthesizing the views of experts and scholars,the development history of practical teaching of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities in the past 70 years is divided into the period of socialist transformation,the period of building socialism in an all-round way,the period of Cultural Revolution,the period from reform and opening up to the implementation of "98 plan",and the five periods since the implementation of "05 plan".Based on a large number of documents and materials,this paper carefully combs the historical development of the practical teaching of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,and expounds the background,contents,characteristics and shortcomings of the practical teaching of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities in various periods,brief lessons learned.Throughout the 70-plus years of history,the Party and the state have always emphasized the connection of theory with practice and attached great importance to the practical teaching of ideological and political courses.However,in the process of practical operation,the practical teaching of ideological and political courses in colleges and universities has experienced a tortuous development.In general,with the promotion of ideological and political course reform in many universities,practical teaching is also developing in the process of exploration.On the basis of the combination of historical theory and piecewise historical investigation,combined with the current situation of practical teaching of ideological and political course in colleges and universities,five summary and reflective opinions are put forward and explained: to correctly understand the importance and necessity of practical teaching of ideological and political course in colleges and universities is the basic premise;It is a basic experience to attach great importance to and strengthen practical teaching of ideological and political course in colleges and universities.It is avaluable experience and lesson to grasp the "degree" of practical teaching of ideological and political course in colleges and universities.The organic and effective combination of practice teaching and theory teaching is the goal we always pursue.Keeping pace with The Times and constantly improving the practice teaching of ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities is the direction of efforts as always.After the 19 th National Congress of the COMMUNIST Party of China(CPC),especially after Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the forum for teachers of ideological and political courses in schools on March 18,2019,the construction of ideological and political courses in universities has attracted unprecedented attention,and the reform and development of practical teaching of ideological and political courses have also embarked on a new journey.Only by carefully summing up the historical experience and lessons,proceeding from reality,keeping pace with The Times,and keeping pace with the development of The Times,can the practical teaching of ideological and political theory course be full of vigor and vitality.
