Objective: In this study,according to the physical state and characteristics of the elderly,the methods of elastic band and 24-style taijiquan training were adopted to conduct experimental intervention for the elderly for 12 weeks.By comparing the changes of flexibility,balance ability,lower limb muscle strength and fall risk of the elderly before and after the experiment,the advantages and disadvantages of the two training methods were analyzed,so as to explore effective methods to prevent the elderly from falling,so as to reduce the probability of the elderly falling and improve the quality of life of the elderly.At the same time,it provides theoretical and practical basis for further research on prevention and treatment of falls of the elderly.Methods: fifty-four eligible and willing elderly subjects were randomly divided into elastic band training group,24 type taijiquan training group and control group according to their age.A 12-week experimental intervention was conducted with 50 minutes of training three times a week.The measures included: chair forward bend,rise-walk timing test,standing with one foot closed,five sit-ups,and functional stretch test.Three groups of old people were tested one week before and one week after the experiment,and the data results were compared and analyzed.Results: the results of the "chair forward bend" test showed that the results of the elastic belt training group and the 24-type taijiquan training group were significantly higher after 12 weeks of intervention than before(P=0.000,P=0.000),and the control group had no significant difference before and after 12 weeks of intervention(P=0.178).After 12 weeks of intervention,there was no significant difference between the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group(P=1.000),and the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group were significantly higher than the control group(P=0.010,P=0.008).The results of the "stand-up and walk timing test" showed that the time after the 12-week intervention in the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group was significantly shorter than that before the intervention(P=0.000,P=0.000),and there was no significant difference in the control group before and after the 12-week intervention(P=0.354).After 12 weeks of intervention,the duration of the elastic band training group was significantly shorter than that of the 24-type taijiquan training group(P=0.039),and that of the elastic band training group and the 24-type taijiquan training group was significantly shorter than that of the control group(P=0.000,P=0.046).The results of "standing with one foot closed eyes" test showed that the 12-week intervention period was significantly longer in the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group than before the intervention period(P=0.000,P=0.000),and there was no significant difference in the control group before and after the 12-week intervention period(P=0.688).After 12 weeks of intervention,there was no significant difference between the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group(P=1.000),and the time of the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group was significantly longer than that of the control group(P=0.034,P=0.023).The results of the test of "5times of sitting up" showed that the time after the 12-week intervention in the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group was significantly shorter than that before the intervention(P=0.000,P=0.000),and the control group had no significant difference before and after the 12-week intervention(P=0.909).After 12 weeks of intervention,there was no significant difference between the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group(P=0.834),and the duration of the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group was significantly shorter than that of the control group(P=0.005,P=0.033).The results of "functional stretching forward" test showed that after 12 weeks of intervention,the elastic belt training group and 24-style tai chi training group were significantly higher than before the intervention(P=0.000,P=0.000),and the control group had no significant difference before and after 12 weeks of intervention(P=0.396).After 12 weeks of intervention,there was no significant difference between the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group(P=0.750),and the elastic belt training group and the 24-style tai chi training group were significantly higher than the control group(P=0.005,P=0.015).Conclusion :(1)12-week elastic belt training and 24-style taijiquan training can effectively improve the flexibility,balance ability and lower limb muscle strength of the elderly,and can effectively reduce the risk of falls of the elderly,both can be used as training methods to prevent falls of the elderly.(2)after 12 weeks of elastic band training,the elderly performed better than 24 tai chi exercises in balancing and reducing the risk of falls.(3)after 12 weeks of 24-style tai chi training,the elderly showed better flexibility than the elastic band training.
