The body possible self is a kind of possible self.It pays attention to the concept of the individual body,and represents the concept of the body that the individual hopes to possess in the future,such as: body shape and physical state.Studies have shown that positive possible self can promote the change of individual behavioral willingness,and the concept of body can enhance the individual’s participation in sports.Therefore,this article further explores the impact of the possible self on exercise intention and behavior.At the same time,related clues are also widely used as a way to change behavior.It refers to the collection of various factors related to behavioral events.This study uses motion clues to investigate.The study found that exercise intention can predict exercise behavior,so improving individual exercise intention and generating exercise behavior is the purpose of this study.Through three progressive experiments,the study first explored the possible self types and the influence of induced materials on exercise intention;on this basis,added sports clues to further explore the impact on exercise intention;finally,the effect of the body’s possible self on exercise behavior.Experiment 1 explores possible self types and their evoking materials.Among them,Experiment 1a explored the influence of physical self and general possible self on exercise intention.A mixed experimental design of 3(possible self types: physical possible self,general possible self,and control group)× 2(time: pretest,posttest)was used to measure the 115 participants before and after using the Exercise Intent Scale.It was found that the participants’ intentions to induce the body’s possible self were significantly higher than those of the other two groups.Experiment 1b explores the effects of pictures and texts on the body’s possible self-intention to exercise intention.A mixed experimental design of 2(induced material categories: pictures,text)× 2(time:pre-test,post-test)was used to measure the 74 participants before and after using the Exercise Intent Scale.It was found that the effects of picture materials on the body’s self-intention to exercise intention were significantly higher than those of text materials.Experiment 2 explores the role of exercise cues in the body’s self-influence on exercise behavior intention.Application Experiment 1 Conclusion Use pictures to induce the body to self-elicit,using a mixed experiment of 2(the body may self-elicit:induced,non-evoked)× 2(cue type: exercise,non-exercise)× 2(time: pretest,posttest)Designed for 111 participants before and after using the Exercise Intent Scale.It was found that the body may influence exercise intentions on its own,and exercise cues have a regulating effect.Compared with non-motor cues intervention,subjects with physical cues may score higher in exercise intention when compared with non-motor cues intervention.Experiment 3 based on experiment 2,using the way that the body may combine itself with motor cues to continuously intervene in different BMI populations and record their exercise.A mixed experimental design of 2(BMI group: overweight group,normal group)× 5(time: pre-test,day 7,day 14,day 21,and day 28)was used to perform 4 interventions on 30 experimental participants.Before the intervention,participants completed the International Physical Activity Questionnaire(IPAQ)as the baseline level of exercise volume,and collected the weekly exercise volume on the 7th day after each intervention.Exploring the changes in exercise behaviors of participants,the results showed that the main effect of time was significant,the main effect of BMI group was not significant,and the intervention of eliciting possible self and motor cues had significant effects on the exercise behavior of different groups of people.Conclusions:(1)The body may increase self-promoting exercise intention.(2)The body may influence exercise intention on its own,and the regulating effect of exercise cues is significant.(3)Physical self and motor cues intervention can promote the exercise behavior of different BMI groups,there is no significant difference in exercise behavior between different BMI groups.(4)Proceed from the body’s possible self,enhance the public’s intention to exercise,increase the clues of exercise,and thereby promote the individual’s intention to exercise and further exercise behavior.Conclusions:(1)The body’s self-intention to exercise behavior towards college students has increased significantly.(2)The body may self-influence college students’ exercise behavior intentions,and the role of sports cues in regulating it is significant.(3)The body may interfere with the exercise behaviors of different BMI groups by self and sports cues,and there is no significant difference in exercise behavior between groups.
