Investigation And Research On Community Correction Of Juvenile Offenders In S City

Since its implementation on 1 July 2020,the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Community Corrections has been actively helping community correctional clients with the original intention of "helping,educating and reforming".However,as a new system,there are many shortcomings in the operation of the law.In particular,community corrections for juvenile offenders.although China has a special chapter on this,but in practice has not yet built a mature and perfect community correction system and working mechanism in line with the characteristics of youth growth and education law,it is difficult to implement the re-socialization of juvenile correctional subjects on the ground.In this paper,we investigate the various roles involved in the community correction of juvenile offenders,analyse the dilemmas and problems of community correction of juvenile offenders,and seek a more optimal management model and working mechanism for juvenile offenders.During the practical research,a great deal of work has been done with juvenile offenders in community corrections: Firstly,the community correction system was not in place.In practice,there are problems such as inadequate construction of community correction teams,imperfect supporting systems,insufficient strength of community organisations and social workers,low level of specialisation,and little difference between the management systems for adult and juvenile offenders.Secondly,the public’s recognition of the community correction system is not high,and there is still a certain "labelling" mentality among the public.Third,the correctional approach is relatively one-sided,and psychological guidance for juvenile offenders is relatively lacking.In response to the problems in judicial practice,firstly,the implementation rules should be formulated and improved to enhance the efficiency of the implementation of community corrections.Secondly,it should implement the differentiated protection for adult offenders who are underage.Finally,the selection criteria and professional training of the community correction team should be strengthened to enhance the team construction,so as to help the minor correctional subjects to better re-socialize.
