In recent years, environmental problems have been continuously highlighted, but also attracted global attention, the severity of ecological problems has become more and more an important reason hindering the survival and development of human beings, which requires people to rethink the relationship between man and nature and change their own way of life. With the deepening of the global ecological crisis and the continuous spread of its scope, people urgently need to find theoretical guidance and countermeasures to solve ecological problems, and it is our top priority to carry out the construction of ecological civilization. The relationship between man and nature is a question that all philosophies cannot bypass and must answer, and it is also the logical starting point of Marx and Engels’ s view of nature.Marx and Engels understood nature from the perspective of materialism, conducted in-depth analysis of the social roots of the concept of nature produced by people in capitalist society, comprehensively expounded the relationship between man and nature with keen insight, and long-term foresaw the realistic path to achieve reconciliation between man and nature, and gradually formed a scientific view of nature. In today’s era,the theory of Marx and Engels’ s view of nature has not withered away with the development of the times, but has proved the truth of his theory through practice, deepening people’s understanding of ecological crisis at the same time, and also providing a methodological basis for the construction of ecological civilization and harmonious society. Therefore, using Marx and Engels’ view of nature to guide practice and provide wisdom for solving global ecological problems is an inevitable choice for people and nature to move from opposition to unity. This article consists of three parts,in addition to the introduction:The first part analyzes the background of Marx and Engels’ s view of nature. It mainly includes the background of the times and the theoretical background. In terms of the background of the times, this idea was formed under the industrial revolution and the development of modern natural science;in terms of theoretical background,Marx and Engels’ s view of nature was deeply influenced by Hegel’s objective idealistic view of nature,Feuerbach’s old materialist view of nature and the spirit of European humanism, and was formed through its inheritance and transcendence. The second part summarizes the main contents of Marx and Engels’ s view of nature.Through the discussion of the relationship between man and nature, the root causes of the ecological crisis are revealed, and then the future society that realizes the reconciliation between man and nature is proposed, which mainly includes the dialectical unity of man and nature, the division between man and nature under capitalist conditions, and the reconciliation between man and nature under communist conditions. The third part evaluates the contemporary value of Marx and Engels’ s view of nature. Its contemporary value is evaluated from both theoretical value and practical value. On the one hand,Marx and Engels’ concept of nature has theoretical significance for the formation of people’s scientific view of nature, the resolution of the global ecological crisis and the construction of ecological civilization;on the other hand,Marx and Engels’ concept of nature has practical significance in cultivating and deepening the public’s awareness of ecological civilization, correctly handling the relationship between Marx and Engels’ s concept of nature and sustainable development, and strengthening the role of ecological economic thinking in the concept of new economic development.
