| As the prolongation of life expectancy and the deepening of aging, people are beginning to pay attention to how long they can live and the quality of life of the elderly. However,China is in a period of economic transformation, the inequality of income distribution is becoming more and more serious, and the gap between the rich and the poor in urban and rural areas is constantly widening. The middle and old-aged from the low social class tend to have a sense of frustration and relative deprivation when comparing their income with the people from the high class, which has a negative impact on their life expectancy and quality of life.Subjective survival expectation has been proved to be closely related to individual physical and mental health by a large number of studies.Based on this, studying the relationship between relative income deprivation, subjective well-being and subjective life expectancy will help to improve the quality of life of middle and old-aged people in China, which is also of great significance to realize active aging.Based on the data of CHARLS in 2013,2015 and 2018,this paper takes the people aged 45 and older as the study sample.According to the overall research framework, the research hypothesis proposed in the theoretical research part is empirically studied.Through the panel fixed effect model regression analysis, this paper analyzes the impact of relative income deprivation on subjective survival expectation, and then constructs a mediating effect model to explore whether subjective well-being is a mediating variable and what role it play between relative income deprivation and subjective survival expectation. The empirical results show that: first, there is a significant negative relationship between the relative deprivation measured by the kakwnai index and the subjective survival expectation of the middle and old-aged people in the sample. With each increase in relative deprivation, the subjective survival expectations of middle-aged and elderly people decreased by 0.104;secondly,relative income deprivation reduces the subjective well-being of the middle-aged and old people and then has a negative impact on their subjective survival expectation influence.Under the background of "Healthy China" strategy and aging, some corresponding policy suggestions can be taken to improve the quality of life of middle-aged and elderly residents in urban and rural areas: first,we should pay attention to enhancing individual subjective well-being and life satisfaction,so as to curb the negative impact of relative income deprivation on the subjective survival expectation of middle-aged and elderly residents;secondly,we should take a variety of measures to improve the income of middle-aged and elderly residents, and implement measures for the rural middle-aged and elderly Finally, the negative emotion of relative deprivation of income should be properly dredged to improve the quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people. |
