Strengthening the construction of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics for a new era is a due meaning and important guarantee for the realization of socialist modernization and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Intra-party democracy and people’s democracy are an important part of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics.Rosa Luxembourg thought of "self-centralism" provides useful lessons for the current strengthening of inner-party democracy and people’s democracy. On the eve of the October Revolution,Lenin advocated the principle of centralized party building organization, which Rosa Luxembourg firmly opposed. She believed that excessive centralism may bring power politics, and the Social Democratic Party should implement the organizational principle of "self-centralism".Luxembourg believes that the SDP "centralism" is a "will compulsory synthesis" of the working class vanguard,in a sense a "self-centralism" led by the proletariat, realizing the rule of the majority within the party organization.Except for the introduction and conclusion, this article is divided into four chapters. The four chapters discuss the historical background, theoretical foundation and main content of the formation of Luxembourg thought of "self-centralism",analyze the historical limitations of Luxembourg thought of "self-centralism",and explain its historical experience and contemporary enlightenment. The first chapter discusses the theoretical orientation of "self-centralism" in Luxembourg.First, respect for the initiative of the people is the core of the idea of "self-centralism".Secondly,realizing the rule of most people is the essence of the "self-centralism" thought. Finally, close the relationship between the party and the masses is the inevitable requirement of the idea of "self-centralism".The second chapter discusses the practical orientation of "self-centralism" in Luxembourg.First, compulsory synthesis is the organizational principle of "self-centralism".Secondly,maintaining the freedom of action of organizations at all levels is the focus of the thought of "self-centralism".Finally,open supervision by public opinion is the way to realize the "self-concentration system".The third chapter expounds the internal logic of the formation and development of "self-centralism" in Luxembourg. This paper analyzes the formation of Luxembourg self-centralism from the historical investigation and theoretical traceability. From the dimension of historical investigation, the formation of Luxembourg thought s "self-centralism" is closely related to her experiences in Germany,Russia and Poland.Luxembourg grew up in Poland, and its idea of "self-centralism" first took shape. After following her husband to Germany, the workers ’ movement she led and participated in triggered the deepening of its ideas. The outbreak of the October Revolution in Russia pushed her mind to maturity. From the perspective of theoretical traceability, the formation of Luxembourg ’s thought of "self-centralism" came from the inheritance of Marx and Engels’ concept of democracy, the reflection on Lenin’s thought of "centralism" and the replacement of bourgeois democracy at that time. The fourth chapter discusses the historical evaluation and contemporary enlightenment of Luxembourg’s "self-centralism" thought. In terms of historical evaluation, the theoretical contribution of Luxembourg ’s "self-centralism" is that,on the one hand, the democratic hypocrisy of Bernstein,Cowsky’ s "pure democracy" and the development of Lenin’s "democratic centralism".The inherent flaw is that one is divorced from the specific reality of Russia, and second, the idea of self-centralism is too one-sided and extreme in some aspects. As far as contemporary enlightenment is concerned,Luxembourg’s thought of "self-centralism" has important enlightenment for vigorously strengthening intra-party democracy, adhere to and improve "democratic centralism",improve the system of autonomy of the grass-roots people, and establish and improve the supervision system of the Party and the state.
