A Study On The Participation Of Social Service Institutions In The Creation Of Community Shared Space

With the changes in China’s social system in recent years,there have been huge changes in the way society is managed.From the earliest unit system to the modern community system,the concept of community has been further developed and improved.The development of community spaces,as an important part of residents’ sense of participation,belonging and quality of life,has become a hot topic of discussion.However,most of these spaces are currently unused and abandoned,or are empty shells with no content,and their utilisation rate is extremely low.In order to solve the dilemmas faced by community shared spaces,social service organisations have begun to participate in community management and community building in the process of changing government functions,gradually playing an increasingly important role in grassroots community governance.Through my data collection,literature research,participatory internship and interviews with managers,executives and community members of social service agencies,I have studied the process of social service agencies’ participation in the operation of shared spaces in the community.It is also a new trend in community management as it helps communities to link up with government,society and other organisations to provide a full range of community services and improve the quality of life of residents.However,there are still some problems in the process of social service organisations’ participation in the operation,such as the degree of residents’ participation,satisfaction with the services and the co-ordination of all parties,and so on.
