The Construction Of Legal Community From The Perspective Of Space Politics

In the 1970 s,Henri Lefebvre’s "Production of Space" shifted the research perspective from time to space.Later,based on lefebvre’s space theory,western scholars successively put forward such viewpoints as "the third space" and "capital accumulation in space" etc.,which enriched and improved the space theory.Lefebvre’s theory of "space politics" is both epistemological and methodological.This paper studies it from the perspectives of "space representation","representational space" and "space practice" put forward by lefebvre.Taking Changshu Tax Education Base as an example,this paper discusses the process of space construction.Why create such a space?How is the space represented?What is the instrumental function of space?What is the logic of running a space?These will be the questions studied in this paper.This paper attempts to reveal the process and operation logic of space construction through case analysis,hoping to gain some benefits from space research on the one hand and enlighten the space production of modern cities on the other hand.The article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter explains several basic concepts and research perspectives of the paper,which lays a theoretical foundation for the following part.The second chapter starts from the case of Changshu Tax Education Base,discusses the influencing factors from production to transformation,and explains why such a space should be created.Chapter three analyzes the process of spatial communication practice in detail from three dimensions:power holders,pavilion itself and visitors.From the communication practice,we can see how such a space constructs people’s sense of identity layer by layer.The fourth chapter focuses on the instrumental role of space,which is subordinate to political domination.In essence,the establishment of Changshu Tax Education Base is the tax bureau’s intention to construct a legal community,so as to realize the purpose of law popularization and publicity and stabilize the social order.To sum up,the construction of space is actually driven by ideology.It is political.The construction of Changshu Tax Education Base is always dominated by political factors.It as a public space aims to popularize knowledge of tax laws,tax bureau by underlying narrative,summon visitors taxpayers’ main body status,by shaping the collective memory to obtain the identity of people,such as to construct a legal community,in order to citizens in the common body complete tax obligations,contribute to tax.
