George Lukács is one of the most important thinkers in the history of modern socialist thought in Europe, and he was in a leading position among Western Marxist theorists in the first half of the 20th century. His collection of essays "History and Class Consciousness" published in 1923 searched for theoretical basis in the classic works of Marx and Engels, and opened a new path to criticize modern capitalism with cultural criticism or revolution of consciousness as the core.Since then,Western Marxism has continued.Following this tradition. Therefore,Lukács is hailed by Merleau Ponti as the founder of Western Marxism.Lukács’ writing "History and Class Consciousness" is theoretically complex.Lukács was in the "Marx apprenticeship period",which clearly had the characteristics of Hegelian subjectivity philosophy. At the same time,he also had the theoretical consciousness to oppose Bernstein’s revisionism. He proposed class consciousness and its mission to change "history".Before 1918,there was a direct connection between the study of literature and the cultural issues of aesthetics.Lukács attributed the failure of the violent revolutions in Germany and Hungary to the class consciousness crisis of the proletariat, and advocated the use of concrete totality and revolutionary subjective dialectics to eliminate the influence of Second International opportunism,so that the proletariat should be removed from the consciousness of "materialization".Liberation and gain conscious proletarian consciousness. It can be seen from this that it is Lukács’ unique source of philosophical thought and revolutionary practice that enabled him to create an ontological philosophy that is different from the Soviet Union’s Marxist philosophical tradition with epistemology as its core, and thus became a representative of Western Marxism. The thesis mainly focuses on Lukács’ theory of class consciousness, and consists of four parts.First,it examines the background of the formation of class consciousness theory, the education Lukács’ received in his early years and its influence on the formation of personality and thought, and the influence of contemporary thinkers on Lukács’ theory of class consciousness. The second is the basic content of the theory of class consciousness, from three aspects: class, proletariat, proletarian consciousness and its unique historical role,to investigate the content, formation logic and theoretical characteristics of Lukács’ theory of class consciousness;Thirdly, from the historical evaluation of Lukács’ theory of class consciousness(including the generative logic of the theory of "class consciousness"),this paper discusses the theoretical way out of the proletarian consciousness constructed by speculative philosophy. The fourth is the enlightenment of Lukács’ class consciousness theory to our ideological work.Through studying Lukács’ thought of "class consciousness",this paper emphasizes the need to strengthen the ideological education of Marxism to the proletariat, which has a very positive enlightenment significance to the ideological work of our country: First,to strengthen the ideological and political construction of the Party and to lead the ideological work from the national level;Second,"class consciousness" emphasizes that the subject gives full play to self-conscious initiative in practice and develops the richness of the subject. It inspires young students to conduct communist education, common ideal education and socialist culture education with Chinese characteristics,so as to shape the soul, shape the life and shape the new person.Third, strengthen the education of socialist core values, become the value pursuit, emotional identification and behavior habits of the whole society,to realize the dream of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
