Research On The Interrogation Of Deaf-mute Suspects

At present,the number of deaf-mute criminal cases in our country is on the rise.Although it accounts for a small proportion of the total number of criminal cases,it is very difficult to detect,especially the confessions of deaf-mute suspects are difficult to obtain.Most of the criminal cases committed by deaf-mute are pickpocketing,which not only brings damage to people’s property safety,but also challenges the maintenance of social order.At present,there is a lack of theoretical research on the interrogation of deaf-mute suspects in academic circles,and the only literature is still on the summary of practical experience,and the theoretical nature needs to be strengthened.In view of this,this paper takes the deaf-mute suspects’ interrogation as a topic,adopts theoretical and empirical research methods to explore the difficulties and problems of deaf-mute suspects’ interrogation,and put forward a targeted and effective interrogation countermeasures.This paper mainly includes the following five parts:The first part is the introduction.This part describes the background of the topic,the purpose and significance of the research,the current research situation at home and abroad,and the research ideas and methods of this article.The second part is an overview of deaf-mute crime.This section introduces the concept and characteristics of deaf-mute,the current situation of deaf-mute crime,the characteristics of deaf-mute crime,and the reasons for deaf-mute crime.The third part is the difficulties of deaf-mute suspects’ interrogation.Starting from the questionnaire,this part analyzes the current difficulties in the interrogation of deaf-mute suspects.The main contents of this part are: communication difficulties with deaf-mute suspects;the confession obstacle of deaf-mute suspects are serious;outstanding counter-interrogation behavior of deaf-mute suspects;there is little evidence available of deaf-mute criminal cases that can be used in interrogation;criminal group members’ confession are difficult to break through;and deep excavation is difficult.The fourth part is the analysis of the problems of deaf-mute suspects’ interrogation.The main contents of this part are: inadequate preparation before interrogation;inadequate use of verbal and nonverbal actions in interrogation;improper entry point and breakthrough in interrogation;lack of pertinence in interrogation strategies and methods;sign language translation is not accurate in conveying interrogation intentions;insufficient protection of rights for deaf-mute suspects;lack of corresponding interrogation equipment and technology.The fifth part is the interrogation countermeasures of deaf-mute suspects.Based on the difficulties and problems in the interrogation of deaf-mute suspects,this part puts forward some targeted countermeasures,the main contents of this part are: preparing for the interrogation;establishing effective psychological contact;finding a breakthrough for interrogation;using interrogation strategies and methods based on deaf-mute suspects’ motive to reject a confession;digging criminal cases with targeted objectives;protecting the criminal litigation rights of deaf-mute suspects in interrogation;regulating the judicial translation system and training specialized talents;strengthen the application of auxiliary equipment and technology in interrogation.
