The Systematical Advantages Of Socialist Democracy With Chinese Characteristics

Since modern times,democracy has always occupied an important position and it is an unwavering goal of the Chinese nation and people.China’s current achievements are inseparable from the support of the democratic system.Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China(CPC),the distinct uniqueness and superiority of the socialist democratic political system with Chinese characteristics has been increasingly evidencing in national governance and safeguarding the people democracy.Socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is an organic unity of the leadership of the CPC,the people as masters of the country and the rule of law.The socialist democratic political system with Chinese characteristics is multi-party cooperation under the leadership of the CPC,an "election +consultation" democracy,a grassroots democracy,which is different from the western countries’ two-party system and multi-party system,competitive democracy and a few elite democracies.To further identify its advantages is a positive response to the current reality of China’s democratic development,which is of great significance to firm the confidence of the political system.This paper studies socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics from the perspective of systematical advantage,and discusses the factors restricting the development of systematical superiority and corresponding solutions on the basis of defining the connotation of socialist democracy and reviewing the historical clues.The paper is divided into three parts and six chapters.The first part is taking the connotation of "democracy" and “socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics” as the starting point,the institutional arrangement of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics as the foothold,and the theoretical and practical exploration of Chinese communists as the context to explain the institutional construction of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics.The second part is based on the analysis of the current situation of democratic system practice in China and the comparison with the democratic system in western countries to explore the institutional advantages of China in the practice of unswervingly following its own characteristics of democratic path.There are three main advantages as following: The first is adhering to the leadership of the party,which has achieved the organic unity of democracy and centralization,formed a good situation in which democracy within the party drives people’s democracy,and ensured the stable development of socialist democracy;The second is adhering to the people as masters of the country and socialist democracy is the close combination of electoral democracy and consultative democracy,which is the democracy of the people at the grass-roots level;The third is adhering to comprehensively implementing rule of law,which to protect socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics.The third part is to strengthen the self construction of the party,promote the wide range of multi-level systematized development of socialist consultative democracy,promote comprehensively implementing the rule of law and improve the supervision system and mechanism to firm the confidence of the party and the people in the socialist democratic system with Chinese characteristics,so as to better exert the superiority of the system.
