A Study On Employment Of Graduates From Jiangsu Vocational College Of Nursing

Graduates from higher vocational colleges are important resources for social and economic development in China and cultivating qualified talents for social development is the key to the transformation of higher vocational education in the new normal of the economy.Enrollment expansion in higher vocational colleges has increased the number of students in higher vocational colleges year by year and the progress of science and technology and social development have made it increasingly difficult for graduates to find employment.Based on the survey of employment intentions of graduates from Jiangsu Vocational College of Nursing,it has a strong practical significance to study the employment issues of higher vocational graduates.Based on the theory of new public administration and other theoretical foundations,the study adopted interviews and questionnaires to investigate the employment problems of vocational graduates.Interviews were conducted with three leaders and managers of employment management departments of higher vocational colleges.310 questionnaires were issued to graduates,with 302 valid questionnaires collected,whose effective rate of the questionnaire was 97.4%,with a valid rate of was 97.4%.The problems found in the investigation and research include firstly,low-level employment intentions driven by economic interests;secondly,lack of a multi-party linkage mechanism and insufficient employment guidance service;thirdly,increasing competitive pressure,and decreasing professional counterpart rate of employment;fourthly,limited information resources,recruitment and job information.Therefore,it is necessary to comprehensively utilize the strengths of the government,schools,society and graduates to deal with the graduates’ employment problems.To start with,we ought to strengthen the education on ideals and beliefs to stimulate the willingness of employment from the grassroots to the west.Secondly,we ought to establish a multi-party mechanism to form a joint force of employment guidance services.Thirdly,we ought to adjust vocational education and teaching contents of to meet social needs.Finally,we ought to broaden the employment information channels to ensure smooth flow of employment information,so as to make higher vocational graduates important human resources and provide qualified talents with high quality for social development.
