| In 2020,COVID-19,as a major international public health emergency,has attracted worldwide attention.The U.S.media has been at the forefront of coverage of the epidemic.Although there may be partisan disputes among American media,for example,Fox News tends to be conservative,the New York Times is relatively neutral,and CNN is considered to be biased toward the democratic parties,their positions and views are relatively unified in the coverage of China-related issues,and they all give more negative reports on China.Fox News,in particular,was even more notable as a banner of Republican media during the COVID-19 outbreak than at other times,since it coincided with the Trump administration.His views in the coverage of the epidemic have frequently caused heated debate in the United States and abroad.Fox news web site is the main force of fox news,network news career,therefore,in view of the fox news website in China outbreak related reports for content analysis,study the marking outbreaks reported the news behind the framework,in the major of emergent public health event marking of fox news reports the features and characteristics,and summarizing its marking reports reporting tactics,It can provide theoretical help for the construction of China’s international communication capacity.At the same time,it can also help China to predict and respond quickly to the international public opinion direction when facing major international public health emergencies,and provide intellectual support for changing the public opinion atmosphere about China constructed by the western media.In order to clarify the news framework of COVID-19,the website of Fox News,and summarize the communication strategy of its China-related reports,this study collected a total of 532 China-related reports from the website of Fox News as samples,using content analysis,discourse analysis,etc.,under the perspective of"frame theory",Three levels of analysis are carried out on the China-related reports of COVID-19 on the Fox News website.This paper is divided into three parts:introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction explains the background and significance of the topic,literature review,theoretical basis,research design and innovation of this paper.The introduction mainly summarizes the literature related to this study,and emphasizes the difference between this study and other studies:because the COVID-19 epidemic is occurring,the collection and analysis of research samples can dynamically grasp the whole process in the time span,which ensures the timeliness and advancement of the study;Choose the Fox News website which is more in line with the modern news reading habits of most people as the research object;In combination with multiple studies,the news framework is divided into three levels for analysis and research,changing the previous way of analyzing news reports from two levels of text and discourse.Chapter 1 to Chapter 3 is the main body of this paper.The three chapters have the same structure:first,make statistics and simple analysis of the categories of the three levels respectively,and the last section makes a comprehensive overall analysis and summary of the whole level.The first chapter analyzes the high-level news frame of the Fox News website--the topic frame.This paper makes a statistical analysis of the total amount of reports,frequency of reports,topics and keynote of China-related reports on the Fox News website,and finds that the macro framework of China-related reports on the Fox News website shows:Mastering the international discourse power enables the Fox News website of the United States to actively set the agenda of international affairs,which is in line with the interests and positions of the United States,which reflects the continuous and consistent cooperation between the Fox News website and the United States government in national strategic communication.China-related reports in the main negative tone.When setting the topic of special personal events,the Fox News website takes advantage of the public’s attention to this topic and selects the content that is beneficial to its own communication purpose to report.The second chapter analyzes the content framework,which is the hierarchy of the news framework of the Fox News website.Analyze the by the U.S.government against China.The third chapter analyzes the low level of the Fox News website’s news frame--the expression frame.The analysis of the expression frame is mainly carried out from the use of headlines,words and historical fragments in the sample of news reports.The micro framework shows that Fox News frequently used derogatory and negative words in the headline of the report on COVID-19 related to China.In China stories on the Fox News website,subheadlines often reveal the true intent of the story.The use of some adverbs and conjunctions deepens the negative color of the meaning of the discourse.The use of historical snippets highlights the consistency and continuity of the dissemination of news reports on the Fox News website.In addition,Fox News has shortcomings in the use of news pictures,ignoring the role and importance of news pictures.The last part of this paper is a summary of the research conclusions.Comprehensive told fox news web site public health
