A Study On The Problem And Countermeasures Of Border Vanity

With a land border of approximately 22,000 kilometers,China is one of the countries with the longest land border,which,as an important part of the land border,plays an important and special role in maintaining national territorial integrity and consolidating border security.Border governance is related to the long-term stability of the country,and people living on the border are the most important factor in the process of border governance.From ancient times to the present,the frontiersmen have been an important force in enriching the borders and guarding them.However,with the development of the economy,a large number of people from the border villages continue to move out,especially the young labour force,resulting in a declining trend of the resident population of the border villages.The lack of labour force has led to the weak development of the villages,and the phenomenon of the border villages appearing hollow.The border villages serves as a line of defense guarding the border,and its vanity has become one of our border problems that desperately needs to be addressed.First,this paper uses H state of Yunnan province as a research case,using government function theory,synergistic governance theory,frontier governance theory,as theoretical support.An analysis of the current situation of the vanity of the borderlands in H state and an in-depth study with the example of sample village A will be conducted.Once again,the study analyses the problem of border vanity in the state of H and the causes of the problem;the most fundamental causes of border vanity in the state of H are the lack of authority at the grassroots level,the general imbalance in the social structure,the relatively weak national consciousness and the relatively backward social and economic development.Finally,based on the analysis of the causes and the actual situation of H state,from the point of view of public administration,we propose countermeasures on how to solve the problem of H state’s border villages’ vanity.Under the new development trend,the governance of the border villages in H state is not only a strategic need for national security but also a need for H state to achieve poverty alleviation and wealth;it is also a need for H state’s economic prosperity,social harmony and stability.Based on the research and analysis,the author proposes four countermeasures to solve the problem of the vanity of the border: innovating a new model of collaborative governance in H state;adjusting the industrial structure and promoting the development and construction of public services;safeguarding the“moneybags” of the border people;and forging a solid consciousness of the Chinese national community,so as to realize the transformation from border consciousness to the consciousness of community.
