| As a new media of increasing development and prosperity,the influence of digital games has penetrated into every aspect of ordinary people’s daily life.The prosperity of the game industry not only brings people economic growth,cultural innovation and social convenience,but also brings negative problems such as teenagers’ game addiction,which leads to a series of serious family conflicts,teacher-student conflicts and youth violent crime.This double-edged sword feature of digital games makes people urgently need to have the ability to use benefits and avoid harm.As a result,the issue of game literacy education has gradually attracted attention in recent years.In the context of the increasing popularity of digital game,game literacy is considered a potentially effective mechanism to protect young people from the effects of bad games.At present,although the academic circles in China have a wide consensus on the importance of game literacy,there is still no consensus on what specific elements should be included in game literacy to help young people cope with the challenges brought about by the proliferation of games.It is precisely for this reason that China lacks an empirical investigation on the status of adolescents’ game literacy and quantitative research on the exact relationship between game literacy and game addiction.Starting from the cross vision of communication and pedagogy,this paper,based on large number of reading domestic and foreign research literature on game literacy and game addiction,clarifies the connotation,components of game literacy and its relationship with other similar literacy concepts,then constructs own theoretical model of game literacy.Next,under the guidance of the theory of digital divide,this paper adopts the method of combination of quantitative research and qualitative research.On the one hand,through a questionnaire surveay of 574 teenagers in urban and rural areas,we understand the current situation of game literacy and game addiction of teenagers in China,explore the impact of demographic factors on game literacy,and deeply analyze the relationship between game literacy and game addiction.On the other hand,through in-depth interviews with 16 educators from families,schools and society,from the four aspects of cognition,attitude,action and difficulth,we understand the specific situation of the game literacy education for teenagers in China,and explore the possible reasons for the differences in game literacy between urban and rural teenagers.Finally,on the basis of comprehensive analysis,this paper points out the deficiencies in the educational practice of teenagers’ game literacy in our country.Combining with the relevant theories of communication and pedagogy and the relevant experience of foreign game literacy education,from the perspective of game literacy education,it puts forward countermeasures and suggestions on how to better prevent teenagers’ s game addiction. |
