Chinese excellent traditional culture is an important foundation for the cultivation of socialist core values.To cultivate and practice socialist core values,we must base on Chinese excellent traditional culture.General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: "we should not forget history to open up the future,and be good at inheriting to be good at innovation." Excellent traditional culture is the foundation of a country and a nation’s inheritance and development."(Xi Jinping’s speech at the 2565 th anniversary International Symposium to commemorate the birth of Confucius)As a part of the excellent traditional Chinese culture,the couplets of Shanxi Merchants’ residences are the result of the combination of ancient times and contemporary times,thoughts and arts,languages and characters,and they fit in with the core socialist values at the ideological level.It is an important way and means to improve citizens’ Moral Cultivation and cultural accomplishment to dig the spiritual connotation and value connotation of the couplet culture of Shanxi Merchants’ residences,and take the couplet as an important carrier to cultivate and practice the socialist core values.This paper mainly consists of six parts: the first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the origin and significance of this topic,analyzes and comments on the research status and development trend at home and abroad,summarizes the research methods and innovations;the second part,outlines the development process of Chinese couplets and the representative couplets of Jinshang residence,selects Pingyao ticket number,Wangjia courtyard and Qiaojia courtyard as the research objects;the third part This paper mainly analyzes the core values of couplets in Shanxi Merchants’ residences,and discusses them from the following aspects: diligence,thrift,cultivation,education,patriotism,self love,benevolence and righteousness,honesty and trustworthiness;the fourth part mainly discusses the ancient philosophical origin of couplets in Shanxi Merchants’ residences,and discusses them from the aspects of thrift,cultivation,education,benevolence and righteousness,honesty;the fifth part mainly discusses The sixth part is mainly based on the urgency and contemporaneity of cultivating and practicing the socialist core values in our country,exploring the principles and ways of cultivating and practicing the socialist core values with the couplet culture of Shanxi Merchants’ residence.Most of the value orientation of couplets in Jin Merchants’ houses is to convey the true,the good and the beautiful,and expose the false,the evil and the ugly.They have a natural fit and high spiritual resonance with the core values of socialism,and some of them contain the decadent and backward thoughts of feudal society,which should be abandoned.This paper regards the couplets of Shanxi Merchants’ houses as the carrier of cultivating and practicing the socialist core values,not to weaken the characteristics of the couplets alone,so that each couplet is completely consistent with the content of the socialist core values,which is unreasonable.On the contrary,on the premise of maintaining the independent development of couplets,we should combine the contemporary characteristics of couplets with the socialist core values,so that they can have spiritual resonance,work together,serve the present and open up the future.As the carrier of cultivating and practicing the socialist core values,it can not only make people easy to accept in thought and actively practice in action,but also show the national characteristics of our traditional culture to the people of the world,enhance our cultural soft power and enhance our comprehensive national strength.
