Study On The Correspondence Between Shanxi Merchants’ Spirit And Socialist Core Values

In Ming and Qing Dynasties,Shanxi businessmen started from scratch,adhered to the cultural tradition of upholding faithfulness,relied on the fine character of continuous self-improvement and hard work,took business as the basis,bravely innovative and pioneering,crisscrossed China in the sea of commerce,and played an extremely important role in the national business field and financial industry.Its business map has spanned the Eurasian continent,leaving a glorious page in the history of China’s commercial finance,and its influence can be described as far-reaching.What Shanxi businessmen in Ming and Qing Dynasties left is not only the development miracle of commercial civilization,but also the spiritual culture of Shanxi Merchants,which is based on honest management and justice-based system of profit-making.The socialist core values are based on the socialist core value system,covering the four levels of our country’s current value orientation and requirements,which are politics,economy,culture and society.The socialist core values are based on the Marxist theory,which embodies the great ideal and the highest value of communism.Combined with the core elements of Chinese excellent traditional culture,they also reflect the mainstream values of the spiritual characteristics of our country at this stage.Among them,it highly condensed and summarized the national value goal,social value orientation and personal value criterion to be achieved at this stage in China.As a part of the excellent Chinese traditional culture,the spirit of Shanxi Merchants is in multi-dimensional and multi-level agreement with the socialist core values.This paper discusses in detail the entrepreneurial spirit of advancing business,being open and pioneering,the principle of doing business with justice,being honest and trustworthy,and the national spirit of helping the country and the people in the same boat carried forward by Shanxi Merchants in Ming and Qing Dynasties;and clearly expounds the logical structure of the socialist core values among the three levels of national construction goal,social development goal and personal moral standard.Furthermore according to the connotation of the spirit of Shanxi merchants and the socialist core values,this paper makes a deep excavation of the relationship between the two related elements,and concludes that the spirit of Shanxi Merchants is in line with the value objectives of national prosperity and strong people,the value requirements of respecting business and dedication,the value criteria of honesty and trustworthiness,the value choice of justice and fairness,the value concept of benevolence and friendship,and the value pursuit of patriotism and benefiting the people.On this basis,this paper discusses the positive role that inheriting the spirit of Shanxi merchants can play in the cultivation and practice of socialist core values from the following three aspects: inheriting the spirit of Shanxi merchants can provide cultural nourishment for cultivating socialist core values,provide support carriers for carrying forward socialist core values and provide moral demonstration for practicing socialist core values.
