A Study On The Motivation Of Community Participation Of Retired Elderly In Unit-type Old Community

In recent years,there are a lot of researches on community participation.However,the author finds that after reviewing the relevant literature,The existing literature on community participation tends to focus on the current situation of participation.Most of the research groups are empty nesters and single elderly.In June 2019,the author began a six-month internship at R Social Work Office.Found a community of retired elderly community participation enthusiasm is very high,which led to the authors thinking: they are what kind of people? What was their motivation for participation? Through questionnaire and in-depth interview,it is found that this community is a unit community.They are all Shougang people,with stable income,living in this community for a long time,strong needs of self-realization characteristics.And to participate in the activities of the a group of people,not late characteristics.These characteristics are related to the development of Shougang Group,the memory of the unit period,the changes of the community and so on,and these characteristics and experiences also stimulate their motivation of community participation.The research focuses on the mining of the life experience of this group,and integrates into the dimension of history.Based on the life experience and the needs of self-realization of the group,this paper analyzes the motivation of participation of this group by using life course theory and self-efficacy theory.Secondly,the change of community and the homogeneity of unit-type community members make the group cherish the environment of community participation,and at the same time,the demand of expanding social network makes the group willing to participate in the community.Third,the characteristics of the age of the group,most of the group was born in the 1950 s and 1960 s,inspired by Chairman Mao dedication thought,consciously participate in the community;Fourth,the needs of self-realization of the group,the group has a strong demand to play their own value,show themselves,physical exercise,these needs to promote them to participate in the community,thus generating a strong motivation to participate.At the same time,this paper also analyzes the problems that affect the motivation of community participation,so as to put forward some suggestions,hoping to maintain or further stimulate the enthusiasm of retired elderly participation.
