In the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and the promotion of agricultural and rural modernization, the importance of agricultural land circulation has become more prominent.Rural farmland issues are the core and most acute problem in rural areas. The transfer of farmland can not only accelerate the urban-rural integration, but also the necessary factors to solve the bottleneck of modern agricultural development. At the same time, the non-agricultural transfer of rural labor can drive the transfer of agricultural land.In previous studies, the relationship between village cadre status and farmland transfer was mainly discussed separately,or its relationship with non-agricultural employment of family members. However, the relationship between the three may not be so simple—village cadres,as elites in rural society, have stronger social capital and human capital than ordinary farmers, and are more likely to obtain non-agricultural employment opportunities.Transfer to farmland. However, there is a negative correlation between non-agricultural employment of family members and transfer to agricultural land. Therefore, village cadres face a dilemma: whether to help family members to non-agricultural employment,or to transfer more land into a scale farm.the Lord?Focusing on this issue, this paper conducts an empirical analysis based on 2,704 questionnaire data of 9 provinces. The results show that village cadres have stronger human capital and social capital, and the status of village cadres has a positive impact on the transfer of farmland;Cadres are generally wealthy households in the village and belong to relatively successful families.According to the theory of relative economic decline, village cadres have no need to go out to work, and most of the rural resources are actually concentrated in the hands of village cadres, which means Village cadres have more advantages in rural areas, and the possibility of participating in non-agricultural employment will be reduced. The status of village cadres has a negative effect on the non-agricultural employment of family members;the non-agricultural employment of family members has a significant negative impact on the transfer of agricultural land. The promotion effect,as the intermediary effect of the cadre status of village cadres and the transfer of farmland, will weaken the influence of the cadre status of the village on the transfer of farmland, but the identity of the cadre of the village is still positively related to the transfer of farmland, indicating the special status of the cadre of the village. In the face of the contradictory choice of non-agricultural employment and agricultural land transfer, the bias is more about the choice of personal interests-transfer more farmland.Compared with the previous research on village cadres and land transfer, this paper selects the special cover effect of mediation effect as the research model. Therefore, the non-agricultural employment of family members is used as an intermediary, trying to build a bridge between the three and build a A unified logical framework to clarify the logical relationship between the three and the mechanism behind it to make up for the shortcomings of the existing literature. In addition, the research also helps us to examine the social stratification problem in rural areas and has important practical value for the formulation of policies for rural revitalization.
