Zhang wentian is a highly-accomplished marxist theorist, and a politician who always concerned about the mass people. He has not only put a lot of attention on the realistic difficulties people often encountered in the field of work and living as well as study, but also used the basic principle of marxism to study these problems and formed the Mass Viewpoint which was different from others. The formation of the Mass Viewpoint has experienced four stages:from July 1917 to May 1925 as the dawn, from June 1925 to September 1935 as formation period, from October 1935 to February 1950 as the mature period, from March 1950 to June 1974 as the further development period.Even in his old age when he was in deep adversity,he still had his own insights. The unique contribution of Zhang Wentian’s Mass View was included that keeping close ties with the masses was a communist party member’s lifelong career; The mass was the master, the party was the belonging, the leadership was providing service; The practice of the masses was the highest standard to test the correctness of the party line, principles and policies; The Chinese Communists should care the vital interests of the masses;Out of the masses is the most dangerous and deadly mistake. The Mass View still has important guiding significance in many aspects, such as for promoting the party to build a clean government, for effectively changing the Four Winds, for strengthening the democratic construction of the party, for valuing and accepting the mass supervision, for improving the party’s level of administration, for promoting the construction of socialist political civilization with Chinese characteristics.
