This thesis presents a research analysis of Bartók’s musical composition and the characteristics of Hungarian peasant songs,using Bartók’s ‘Fifteen Hungarian Peasant Songs’ as the main focus.In so doing,the thesis discovers the characteristics and origins of Hungarian peasant songs,which are the treasure of Hungarian music.It also discusses how Bartók adapted rustic folk songs into piano works with high artistic value.It analyzes Bartók’s thinking of music creation with national characteristics.And,from the perspective of playing tempo,it compares different versions.These comparisons involves six world-class pianists.This thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces current research from China and overseas.The thesis author’s analysis is also stated in this opening chapter.The second chapter discusses the sources of Bartók’s music creation from Bartók’s exploration of peasant music and Hungarian peasant songs.The focus of this thesis is the third chapter,including the origin of composition,rhythm and beat characteristics,traditional song structure,nationalized mode characteristics,polytonality of texture morphology,and personalized harmonic techniques.Based upon the playing tempo,the fourth chapter compares different versions of ‘Fifteen Hungarian Peasant Songs’ by six pianists.This comparison involves a discussion of the interpretation and personal style of the six pianists. |
