| Black Mirror is a series of television plays with the theme of black technology, which shows the utilization, destruction and reconstruction of humanity by human survival mode and scientific and technological alienation in the era of black technology. The types of scientific and technological products and ethical issues reflected in the play are rich and typical, mainly including media alienation, cyberspace and artificial intelligence.Every case and tragedy caused by black technology involves the ethical relationship between people, between people and society, and between people and themselves. These disadvantages of black technology reflect the weakness of humanity and the distortion of ethics. It is worth us to think deeply about the relationship between man and machine, the construction of ethical order and man’s own position in the future era of technology. This thesis applies literary ethical criticism to the ethical analysis of science and technology in Black Mirror. It is divided into four chapters:The first chapter focuses on media alienation and totalitarian society. The development of network media makes individuals aggregate into groups, loses their will and shows the psychology of conformity. This dispels the individual’s thinking and critical ability and political seriousness, and makes the whole society one-dimensional.Screenwriter Charlie Brooker believes that the development of media has led to the marginalization of people. The development of media violates the requirements of its authenticity and objectivity, restricts the audience to think about ethics and morality, and the anomie of media ethics will threaten social justice and law.The second chapter mainly analyzes the consciousness and body ethics in the cyberspace of Black Mirror.Black Mirror presents a new way of consciousness in cyberspace: storable memory;Independent, separable and transferable consciousness.Body philosophy has realized that the body is the origin. From the post human perspective,Cyborg body and consciousness include two paradigms: embodied and disembodied. From the perspective of ethics,it is impossible for consciousness to exist independently and forever without the body.Consciousness is embodied and must be based on the human body in the real world. The copy of consciousness in science fiction text can not become the subject of ethics. The third chapter discusses the ethical identity and ethical choice of artificial intelligence.Man is composed of human factors and animal factors, and its essence lies in ethics.Cyborg and artificial intelligence are composed of human factor and machine factor.Cyborg should keep the human factor higher than the machine factor in order to maintain humanity. The difference between artificial intelligence and human also lies in ethics.Although artificial intelligence can obtain some human factors and learn and imitate human beings,it can never replace human beings because it cannot understand the theory of humanity.Although artificial intelligence cannot become the subject of ethics,it should have ethical identity and rights. The fourth chapter will discuss the enlightenment brought by the Black Mirror. In the era of black technology, ethics has changed, which has changed the ethical order and formed new ethical norms. On this basis, human beings need to reposition with science and technology.People must maintain the dominant position, consolidate their own ethical order and control science and technology to a certain extent in order to ensure future development. This study focuses on the alienation of science and technology shown in Black Mirror, puts it in the ethical environment of the future era of technology, and discusses the problems of media totalitarian trial, cyberspace and artificial intelligence caused by the alienation of science and technology,in order to provide a literary ethical perspective for the future development of science and technology, and re-examine the scientific and technological conflicts and problems faced by human development. |
