The mythological theme is an important support for the construction of Chinese animation films,and an important source of material for Chinese animation films to "go out".It provides an intrinsic basis for animation creation and injects vitali ty.The study of its narrative is the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional national culture,so as to show the unique narrative characteristics of Chinese culture.This study will start from the narrative of mythological animated films,based on the classical narrative theory,drawing on the "new mythology theory" and the cutting-edge achievements of current narrative theory,and combining theories of semiotics and art criticism to conduct an in-depth study on the narrative content,narrative structure,and narrative imagery of Chinese mythological animated films from 2015-2021.It also explores the narrative methods and narrative imagery in Chinese mythological animated films,and discusses the problems in their narratives,so as to provide some possible directions or effective strategies for the further development of Chinese animated films.It is divided into four chapters as follows.In the first chapter,an overview of Chinese mythology-themed animated films is given to define the concept of Chinese mythology-themed animated films.It introduces the works of Chinese mythological-themed animated films from 2015-2021 and analyzes the genre choices among their mythological themes.In the second chapter,In terms of narrative content,we analyze the themes,characters,and plots,and analyze the innovative expressions of traditional mythological themes when they are modernized and reconstructed intertextually;in terms of narrative structure,we summarize the diversified expressions of the narrative structure and analyze the presentation of shots with unique Chinese aesthetic meaning.In the third chapter,we analyze and interpret the representative imagery in Chinese mythological animated films from three aspects: "the botanical imagery of lotus","the color imagery of red",and "the natural imagery of water".We will explore the far-reaching significance of the traditional Chinese philosophy.Chapter 4,Issues and Strategies Discussion.To summarise the problems in Chinese mythological animation films from 2015-2021 and to explore narrative models and strategies with Chinese characteristics for the further development of Chinese animation films.Overall,the narrative mode of Chinese mythological animation films from2015-2021 is mainly reflected in the narrative structure and other formal levels.The continuous breakthrough of the narrative form of animated films essentially reflects the sprouting of film ontological consciousness,which has positive aesthetic significance.However,the limitations of mythological themes in terms of value expression and the weak cultural spirit of characters also need to be reflected.It is important to reflect on how to transform traditional mythological themes in Chinese animation film narratives,reflecting traditional cultural values and modern culture.And we look forward to the further integration of the rich narrative theoretical models borrowed from foreign countries with the local Chinese experience and our own cultural psychology.It provides a reference for the construction of oriental animation aesthetics and the development of Chinese animated film narratives with mythological themes. |
