| As one of ways of language input,English reading has attracted much attention in English teaching.The application and improvement of reading skills can promote junior high school students’ language acquisition,internalize input knowledge and lay a solid foundation for language output.In the school where the author teaches,teachers focus on explaining words,grammar and sentences.Students lack interest in English reading,their reading performance is not significantly improved,and their learning enthusiasm and initiative are not high.In order to increase students’ interest in English reading and further improve students’ reading ability,the author applies the Production-oriented Approach to the English reading class of junior middle school,and carries out two rounds of action research with 48 students as the research object.This study uses the Production-oriented Approach to guide the teaching of English reading in junior middle school,aiming to improve teachers’ reading teaching methods and students’ reading situation,and explore the effect on English Reading Teaching.This study aims to answer the following questions :(1)How to apply the Production-oriented Approach to English reading teaching in junior middle school?(2)What is the effect of students’ reading scores based on the Production-oriented Approach to junior middle school English reading teaching?(3)What is the effect of students’ reading interest based on the Production-oriented Approach to junior middle school English reading teaching?The study is an action research which aimed to explore the effect of the Production-oriented Approach in junior middle school by adopting research methods such as the test,the questionnaire and the interview.In the motivating stage,starting from the output task,the teacher presented communicative scenes;in the enabling stage,the teacher provided input materials which were related to the content and guided students to have selective learning;in the assessing stage,further consolidating knowledge they have learned by means of assessment for learning.Based on two rounds of action research,it is found that students’ interest in English reading and reading ability has been improved.It shows that it is feasible to apply the output-oriented method to junior middle school English reading teaching.It is worth applying and promoting in the junior middle school English reading teaching in the future. |
