Only a small part of the large amount of information obtained by human attention system through sensory perception can be further processed after attention selection, which seriously limits our ability to consciously obtain the corresponding information at any specific time point. The phenomenon of functional blindness to other stimuli caused by continuous processing of target stimuli in the time dimension is called attention blink(AB).Compared with neutral stimulus and other stimuli, emotional stimulus will cause greater attention blink.Previous studies have shown that when T1 is emotional stimulus and T2 is neutral stimulus, the size and duration of attention blink mainly depend on the arousal degree of emotion.Other studies believe that the size and duration of attention blink mainly depend on the potency, and there are disputes between different potency, such as "happiness advantage effect" and "anger advantage effect",Therefore, there is still controversy about the influence of emotion on attentional blink.According to the attention cascade model, emotional stimuli will be processed by top-down attention control mode and bottom-up salience mode according to their attributes after entering the sensory processor, resulting in different degrees of attention blink. This study is based on this theory,The dual task RSVP paradigm and event-related potentials were used to explore the effects of different potency and arousal degree of explicit emotion and implicit emotion on attentional blink and the neural processing mechanism. Methods: there were two experiments in this study.Experiment 1 investigated the effects of different potency and arousal on attentional blink and the neural processing mechanism when T1 was an explicit emotional stimulus.Experiment 2investigated the effects of different potency and arousal on attentional blink and the neural processing mechanism when T1 was an implicit emotional stimulus. In order to further investigate the influence of explicit emotion and implicit emotion on attentional blink, this study integrated two experiments, and conducted a joint analysis of the effect of attentional blink with four factor in-patient design, taking the level of emotional consciousness, potency, arousal and delayed position as the in group variables,to study the influence of explicit emotion and implicit emotion on attentional blink and the neural processing mechanism.Results:(1)The behavior results of Experiment 1 showed that when the accuracy of T1 was statistically analyzed,T1 was easier to be recognized when the explicit emotional faces were positive titer and delayed position lag6;titer × The interaction of arousal showed that only at high arousal did the potency affect T1 recognition. In the statistical analysis of the accuracy of T2,T2 is easier to be recognized under the condition of lag6 delay position, which indicates that there is attention blink effect;titer × The interaction of arousal showed that the potency was significant only when the arousal was low;Additional potency × arousal × The triple interaction of T2 delayed position showed that when T1 was negative, low arousal was easier to recognize than high arousal T2 regardless of the length of the delayed position.EEG results showed that P2 amplitude was higher in high arousal than that in low arousal, and P3 amplitude was greater in lag2;Delay position × The interaction of wakefulness showed that the P3 amplitude at the delayed position was significant only when the wakefulness was low.(2)The behavioral results of Experiment 2 showed that T1 with implicit negative valence emotion was easier to be identified when the accuracy of T1 was statistically analyzed;titer × The interaction of arousal degree showed that the recognition rate of low arousal emotion with positive titer was higher than that with high arousal, while the recognition rate of low arousal emotion with negative titer was lower than that with high arousal; In the statistical analysis of the accuracy of T2,the T2 of lag6 is easier to identify, which indicates that the attentional blink effect appears;EEG results showed that the main effects of P2 and P3 amplitudes on delay position, potency and arousal were not significant, and there was no interaction.(3)The results of combined analysis of Experiment 1 and Experiment 2 showed that explicit emotion was easier to be recognized than implicit T1 in the statistical analysis of T1 accuracy; The recognition rate of high arousal emotion was higher than that of low arousal emotion at positive titer, while the recognition rate of low arousal emotion was higher than that of high arousal emotion at negative titer; The level of consciousness was significant only when the titer was positive; At high arousal, the emotional correctness of explicit and positive valence was significantly higher than that of negative valence. At low arousal, the emotional correctness of explicit negative valence was significantly higher than that of implicit positive valence. In the statistical analysis of T2 accuracy, the recognition rate of explicit emotion is lower than that of implicit emotion when lag2 is delayed, but the recognition rate of explicit emotion is higher than that of implicit emotion when lag6 is delayed.EEG results showed that the main effect of P2 amplitude on emotional consciousness level, arousal degree and delayed position was significant, and high arousal was higher than low arousal,lag2 at delayed position was greater than lag6 at delayed position, and explicit emotion was greater than implicit emotion.P3 amplitude is the main effect on the level of emotional awareness and delayed position, and lag2 at delayed position is greater than lag6 at delayed position, and explicit emotion is greater than implicit emotion. Conclusion: When T1 is an explicit or implicit emotional stimulus and T2 is a neutral stimulus, attention blink effect is produced. However, the different potency and arousal degree of explicit emotion and implicit emotion have different effects on the processing mechanism of attentional blink. In addition, combined with event-related potentials,it is found that explicit emotional stimulation uses the bottom-up attentional salience mode to process information, while implicit emotional stimulation uses the top-down attentional control mode to process information. This conclusion verifies the cognitive resource limited theory of attention cascade model to a certain extent. |
