The Impact Of Emotion And Field Cognition Mode On Attentional Blink

In the modern of information society, our life is filled with a large amount of information every day. Due to the limited resources of the human’ attention, a lot of information that we failed to notice, these information have no access to enter our information processing system for further processing, only a small mount of information that we can notice have access to the brain processes. So in our daily life how to choose useful information is an important issue. The Attentional Blink has been primarily in the focus of investigations of the time course of selective attention. If we are asked to identify the first target and the second target presented after the first target stimulation, we usually reduced the ability to identify the second target. The phenomenon is regarded as Attentional Blink. Many factors can influence the Attentional Blink, such as age and many other demographic variables, and personality traits. Moreover cognitive ability can also influence the Attentional Blink effect. This paper is exploring the influence of emotion and field cognition mode on Attentional Blink, and testing the interaction between emotion and cognitive style.This paper is consisted of one pre-experiment and two official experiments. The subjects of this research are college students. Some videos and rapid serial visual presentation(RSVP) are used for experimental materials with the computer programming method. The correct rate of the target and exploration are Attentional Blink measures. In this research, the first experiment studies the impact of field cognition mode on Attentional Blink effect in the no-emotional arousal state. The second experiment aims to discuss the Attentional Blink are influenced by the interaction between emotion and field cognition mode.Here are the results:(1)Both under the no-emotional arousal state and the emotional state, Field independent have smaller Attentional Blink effect than field dependent.(2)The main effect of emotion is very significant.(3)The interaction between field cognition mode and emotion is not significant.
