A Translation Report On Supplier Manual Released By Tetra Pak（Excerpts）

As the world’ s leading provider of food processing and packaging solutions,Tetra Pak updates its supplier manuals every March.For multinational companies in China,the Chinese translation of supplier manuals can effectively promote the standardization of production for domestic suppliers,so as to achieve the improvement of production methods,and ultimately improve the economic benefits of both parties and achieve a win-win situation.This translation report consists of four chapters.The first chapter “Task Description”describes the background and significance of Supplier Manual’s Chinese translation.The second chapter “Case Description” is divided into case introduction,text features and translation process.The case introduction mainly describes the main contents of the chapters of the Manual.The text features mainly analyze the original text from the two aspects: words and sentences.The translation process is a review and elaboration of the work done at different stages of the project’ s progress.In the third chapter “Case Analysis”,the author takes Hans Vermeer’ s Skopos Theory as a guide and gives solutions to the translation difficulties of some words and sentences.Besides,the author also summarizes the translation strategies and means adopted in the manual which includes literal translation,conversion and free translation.The fourth chapter“Summary” summarizes the findings and inspirations gained from this practice.
