| As one of the themes of Chinese traditional art,"baby at play" is rooted in the culture and art appreciation,reflecting the social life throughout different historical periods and Chinese traditional ideology."Baby play painting" in the Two Song Dynasties not only embodies rich cultural and spiritual connotation,but also is different from other themes because of its strong interest in artistic expression and picture composition.It has a unique romance being far from reality beyond time and space.However,there are few studies involving the combination of "baby play painting" with "interest" and related to their own art practice in the existing literature and research,which has become the research focus and innovation of this paper.Based on the existing research of the "baby play painting" and paintings of representative painters in this theme in the Two Song Dynasties,this paper analyzes the artistic style and culture connotation in the "baby play painting" from the aspects of theme implication,spatial composition,and character modeling.It is concluded that the delightful visual effect lies in the artist’s taking advantage of a play between children to present non-utilitarian behavior.Also,the free mental state in the painting conveys the most authentic and natural childlike innocence and playfulness full of unknowns.Combined with the author’s art practice,this paper further explores the interesting representation of "baby drama" in the Two Song dynasties in the creative work process.Besides providing a new perspective for art creation,this study is aimed to arouse readers’ interests in the theme of Chinese traditional infant drama,also to have a certain reference value and practical significance contributing to the pleasure and entertaining part in artworks nowadays. |
