Symbolic Expressionism Painting Research And My Practice

Expressionism uses different themes,techniques and media to convey emotions.As an important artistic language of expressionism,"symbolism" promotes the richness and diversity of expressionist paintings.Edvard Munch’s lost treatment of loneliness and restlessness in The Scream is an example of expressionism.Symbolism is a freely chosen form of artistic language.Expressionist artists can transfer their thoughts and spirit through symbolic transformation of objects or patterns through forms,materials,colors and different perspectives.For example,the special meaning of color in artist Franz Marc’s "Big Blue Horse".The female perspective in Shen Ling’s Men and Women conveys the equal relationship of "sexual value";The performance of "micro narration" in Zhang Xiaotao’s "Festering Landscape" to material life;The symbolic transformation of deconstructed images in Three Tastes Bookstore by Wang Huaiqing is an important embodiment of symbolic art language in expressionist painting.Analyze the expressiveness from spirit,emotion and form,and sort out the symbolic language painting.Combining artistic creation to reflect emotional values,derived from the selection of painting themes and formal language of a series of thinking.The thesis is divided into three parts.The first part is a brief description of the development of symbolic expressionism painting,a brief summary of the characteristics of expressionism and symbolism,combined with artistic language to show people’ s concern for life and nature.Second,in the category of symbolic expressionism,it interprets the works of artists with different artistic forms and emotional expressions,analyzes the importance of paying attention to the development of "human" in humanistic values,and the spiritual and emotional embodiment of symbolic languages in the works.Third,in the context of the development of modern art,it pays attention to the life experience and seeks for independent painting language.It takes the material "packaging paper" in the express industry as the material,as the image of the painting theme,and combines the research on the painting theory and works of symbolic expressionism to go through the process of practice,transformation and re-practice.In view of the contradiction between the phenomenon of "excessive indulgence" and people’s "lack of spiritual culture" in order to meet material needs in the social consumption culture,the author thinks about the influence of consumption on people’s survival and development and the consumption of spiritual activities,and highlights the importance of people’s pursuit of the meaning of life existence and the embodiment of emotional value in the materialistic society.And to maintain the purity of love,innovation,independence and expression in artistic creation is long-term development.
