A Study On The Modernity Of Youth Groups In The May 4th Movement

During the May Fourth New Culture Movement,the young people had the desire to save the country and survive,and bravely undertook the heavy historical task of realizing national independence and the liberation of the people.In the process,the May Fourth youth group showed unprecedented modernity characteristics.The emergence and development of this modernity has enabled the May Fourth youth group to have a modern way of thinking,thinking,cognition and behavior.Although due to the constraints of insufficient preparation of modernity theory,the problems of the chinese social reality at that time,and the insufficient cognition of young people themselves,the May Fourth youth group has some shortcomings in its modernity in the process of pursuing modernity,but this modernity is of great significance to the salvation of Chinese society in the May Fourth period,the ideological emancipation of the people,social progress and cultural transformation,and also provides an important reference for the growth and development of young people in the new era.Based on the existing research results,this article starts from the relevant theories of modernity,and starts the study of the modernity of the May Fourth Youth Group from three parts:The first part of this article elaborates on the emergence of the May Fourth youth group from the perspective of modernity.First of all,around the emergence of modernity,the connotation of modernity and the meaning of human modernity,the theory of modernity is summarized.On this basis,the appeal of modern Chinese to human modernity is analyzed.Secondly,the subjective and objective historical conditions for the modernity of the May Fourth youth group are analyzed from four aspects: the development of the national capitalist economy,the deepening of the national crisis of national subjugation and extinction,the spread of the new cultural movement and Marxism,and the unique spiritual endowments of the May Fourth youth.The second part discusses the connotation and characteristics of the modernity of the May Fourth youth group.The connotation of the modernity of the May Fourth youth group is embodied in the self-perception of taking the future and destiny of the country as the mission,the social cognition from resisting feudal autocracy to anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism,the historical cognition from democracy to scientific socialism,and the national cognition from the traditional "home country" concept to the modern national state concept.The characteristics of the modernity of the May Fourth youth group are expressed in a strong sense of distress,the desire to abandon the old and make a new one,the concept of advanced and open,and the conscious motivation for behavior.The third part explains the value implications,historical limitations,and practical implications of modernity in the May Fourth youth group.In the process of the emergence and development of the modernity of the May Fourth youth group,the youth group undertook the dual mission of enlightenment and salvation,promoted the political participation of all sectors of society,and promoted the transformation of China’s social and cultural value system.Due to the lack of preparation for the theory of modernity,the shackles of China’s practical dilemma,and the insufficient understanding of young people themselves,the modernity of the May Fourth youth group shows certain historical limitations.Nevertheless,the boldness and accompanying awakening of the May Fourth youth group in the process of seeking modernity have important enlightenment significance for the development and progress of young people in the new era.
