| As science and technology is booming together with the popularization of artificial intelligence technology, the acquisition and processing of biographical texts widely exist on the Internet. The ways through the Internet and text processing technology have become a prominent feature. In recent years, there have been many achievements in the study of biography at home and abroad. How to introduce the world famous people to Chinese readers in an all-round way has become one of the current problems. This report is based on the biographical novel "Mozart’s Youth"(excerpt)translated by American writer and translator George Putnam Upton. The biography was first published in German by German writer Franz Hoffmann, and later translated into English and published by George Putnam Upton. In translation process, the translator must have a very clear understanding and learning of the characteristics of the text in terms of vocabulary, syntax, and text. The source text not only introduces the process of how Mozart became famous, but also shows the development trend of music in Europe at that time from different angles, showing the contribution of the Mozart family to music in an all-round way. Therefore, through translation practice, the translator will,on the one hand, show Mozart’s musical talent from multiple perspectives and aspects, and will also provide certain translation experience and strategies for the translation of such biographical texts. This report mainly takes the three principles of Skopos theory as the main translation strategies, and analyzes them from the perspectives of lexical, syntactic and textual respectively. When translating foreign biographies, the three principles of Skopos theory are still one of the best principles for studying translation strategies.Through the translation research of biography under the guidance of Skopos theory, the translator can better add his own characteristics on the basis of striving to keep the original text, and carry out better literary dissemination and translation for Chinese readers. On the lexical level, the author mainly translates from the simplification and repetition of words. On the one hand, the novel has many culturally loaded words, and a large number of words are related to professional terms such as music or musical instruments. Therefore,in terms of vocabulary translation, the translator will consult a large number of documents. On the other hand, the novel not only involves a lot of vocabulary, but also involves a lot of environmental descriptions and character descriptions. Therefore, the translator will repeatedly polish and analyze the translation when translating. At the level of syntax and text, the translator will organically combine the three principles of Skopos theory with the text characteristics of the biography of literary figures, and compare the special vocabulary and extremely difficult sentences involved in the summary and translation. When dealing with these problems, the author adopts the transformation of voice, such as the mutual transformation between the active sentence and the passive sentence, and the rearrangement and structure of sentence patterns.Through the translation practice, and by applying Skopos theory to literary translation,we can add new perspectives and translation practice methods to translation theory, and improve our translation practice ability and level by processing texts. |
