A Study On The Epitaph Of Rong Duan And His Wife In Handan In The Northern Dynasty And Calligraphy

Handan,located in Southern Hebei,has always been a place for the exchange and integration of Central Plains culture and Northern thought.With a long history and far-reaching culture,Handan is the site of the "Yecheng" site,the capital of the Northern Qi Dynasty.The tombs of emperors,generals,princes and nobles are spread out here.Tripartite epitaph of Rong Duan and his wife in the Northern Qi Dynasty was unearthed in 1993.The epitaph is intact,the words are clearly engraved,and the calligraphy of the cover and body of the epitaph is exquisite,which has strong value in text research and calligraphy art research.At present,there is a lack of research and sorting on the three party epitaphs,which have not attracted people’s attention after being unearthed,So,This paper is based on tripartite epitaph of Rong Duan and his wife,divided into the following four parts.The first part summarizes the geographical culture of "Yecheng",and makes a textual research on the family relationship of Rong Duan and the aristocratic family culture of the Northern Dynasty reflected in the epitaphs of Rong Duan and his wife;The second part: as the epitaph of the Northern Dynasty,the epitaph calligraphy of Rong Duan and his wife has both commonness and individuality.It makes a comprehensive analysis and research on the elements of stippling,calligraphy,composition,style and so on;The third part: classify and analyze the variant common words in the epitaph;The fourth part:,Draw lessons from the calligraphy style of epitaphs,copy and create their own calligraphy works,and make comprehensive thinking based on the shortcomings and improvement direction of their own works.
