Chang zanchun,as a scholar calligrapher in Shanxi at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,has a profound knowledge of history,scholars,catalogues,epigraphy and so on.His calligraphy is graceful,vigorous and elegant.The seal script is subordinate to the stone drum script,which is close to the schools of the Qing Dynasty.Taking Chang zanchun of the Chang family as the main research object,this paper analyzes the calligraphy thought in his collection Chang Zixiang’s Sinology and literature compilation,and studies the unique views of Shanxi scholar calligraphers on calligraphy art in the environment of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.If it can enrich the causes of regional calligraphy,it is also the best vision of this paper.The first chapter briefly expounds Chang zanchun’s social background and the origin of his calligraphy thought.The second chapter is Chang’s criticism of tablet school calligraphers.Chang always takes the Confucian "Neutralization" as the principle,analyzes and points out the choice of learning tablet school calligraphers.The third chapter is Chang’s criticism of Tiepai calligraphers.He objectively affirmed the important position of Tiexue in the history of books,and pointed out that there should be analysis and criticism when learning all kinds of Tiepai Calligraphers’ works.The fourth chapter is Chang’s method and aesthetic view,which focuses on the two groups of aesthetic categories of "Crazy" and "craftsman","dry" and "false" in Zi Xue tan.At the same time,it points out that Chang’s method view of calligraphy is to be familiar with the origin of calligraphy and pay attention to the cultural foundation.The fifth chapter points out the practical significance of Chang zanchun’s calligraphy thought in contemporary times.Chang’s calligraphy thought is guided by the Confucian thought of "Neutralization" and guided by adhering to the study of traditional cultural theory.Under the cultural background of the new era,it provides all-round guidance and suggestions on how to inherit and innovate calligraphy art.
