The systematic learning of excellent works is very necessary.As one of the masterpieces of traditional Chinese painting,the Flower Atlas by Chenchun,a famous flower and bird painter in the Ming Dynasty was comprehensively studied,copied and referred in this thesis.The theories and technical transformation were summarized based on the learning of its internal expression techniques and the understanding of its aesthetic interests,which were then applied to the author’s own creation.This was one of the practical ways for the author to make the sublimation of the flower and bird painting techniques.Based on this,an in-depth discussion and refinement on the painting expression,painting techniques and aesthetic expression style of the Flower Atlas was carried out.In theory,the expression language and aesthetic features in Chen Chun’s Flower Atlas were summarized.In practice,the possibility of integrating this expression technique into the author’s own painting creation as a modern expression way was further explored.The techniques,pen and ink,color usage and artistic language in Chen Chun’s Flower Atlas were excavated and researched to embody the uniqueness of Chen Chun as a great artist.The form of both pictures and texts was used,and the author’s actual creative experience was combined to further elaborate the relationship between Chen Chun’s Flower Atlas and the author’s creative practice.By starting from the aspects of the relevance between the author’s selection of theme and Chen Chun’s Flower Atlas,as well as the motivation and trend of the author’s flower and bird painting creation,the transformation possibility and application prospect of Chen Chun’s flower and bird painting techniques in the author’s learning and creation of flower and bird paintings were prospected.
