Family Image Research From The Perspective Of Image History ——Taking Gaopingzi Village,Wanbi Township,Dayao County As An Example

Image historiography was born in the late 1980 s,which is one of the new branches of history and the continuation and development of Chinese traditional historical data in the image information age.It conveys history with image as grammatical expression,and gives image writing the same status as writing.Its emergence has brought new changes and vitality to historiography and history.Only through the excavation and collection of historical materials can history be presented more truly and more representative.Grand historical narratives have long defined mainstream historical narratives,which rarely involve the lives of the public and marginalized.Now the trend towards historiography is changing.Historians try to write a history of ordinary people,a history that is different from official history,as Thompson,the English Marxist historian,defined it as "bottom-up" history,explaining historical events from the perspective of working class,oppressed,poor,marginalized individuals and groups,Rather than interpreting historical events from the perspective of the ruling or privileged classes.They are often not well preserved in government institutions,because the materials historians use to explain history are usually from privileged or government-owned records.Family images record social and cultural life from the perspective of the public,becoming a new source of historiography and opening a new door for the writing of traditional history.As the basic unit of society,family shapes the world outlook,outlook on life and values of family members.Family photos,videos,manuscripts,diaries and other objects reflect the whole process of social change and development.These objects are in a sense family records,and family photographs and videos play a crucial role in this.As precious family artifacts,they record historical events about the family,community and society,but are always covered in dust and forgotten.Therefore,it is necessary to raise public awareness of the dangers faced by these family artifacts and take action to protect them when necessary,so as to preserve the history and memory of the public and marginalized individuals and groups.Family images are a treasure house of social culture and history as well as an important historical document.
