| As an important scriptwriter technique,suspense can not only attract the audience throughout the story development,but also greatly improve the tension of the story.Whether it is a linear narrative or a non-linear narrative,the setting of suspense in the process requires that the first is logical,the second is reasonable and unexpected,and the last is to show the core of the theme.The clever setting of suspense in movie plays plays an important role.The most important thing is that it can firmly catch the audience’s eye,arouse their curiosity,make them anxious to solve the suspense,bring the audience hope and fear,and finally develop empathy with the characters in the movie.Therefore,how to set up suspense at the structural level of script creation is worth exploring.Based on relevant theories of suspense setting at home and abroad,this paper takes the graduation work "Real Murderer" as an example to discuss how screenwriters set suspense in linear narrative structure films.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part analyzes the suspense setting of linear narrative structure from two aspects: the suspense setting based on events and the suspense setting based on characters’ fate.The second part explores the advance and backward movement of suspense with the beginning of linear narrative structure.The third part discusses how to "establish" and "explain" suspense in the middle part of linear narrative structure.The fourth part explores the solution of suspense in the ending.The author hopes to provide reference for suspense setting in future film dramas by studying suspense setting in linear narrative structure. |
